Midtown Beauty Salons

    John Barrett, 10019 Murray Hill
  754 5th Avenue - Manhattan - New York, NY
For more than a decade, John Barrett has been the mastermind behind some of the world's most fashionable women.
As noted for his dry wit and candor as he is for his sensitive handling of the diverse personalities — actresses, fashion editors, socialites, media figures — who comprise his clientele, Mr. Barrett has made a name paying superior attention to both the inside and outside of a woman's head. Hair, he believes, should be the glamorous extension of who you are inside.

While he has studiously avoided creating anything that could be called a signature cut, Barrett nonetheless strives to give all his clients the same thing: a clean, warm, modern look that melds the glamour and grace of uptown with all the youth and vitality of downtown. It's the perfect formula: one that allows every woman to express herself easily, naturally and beautifully.

Timothy John's Salon, 10019 Murray Hill
  313 W. 53rd Street - New York, NY
Timothy John started his career as an assistant in an intercoiffure salon. Intercoiffure is a world-renowned hairdressing association that trains and practices hairstyling with the highest of standards. After three years of rigorous training and “on the floor” experience, which allowed him to master each technique in hairstyling, Timothy moved on to pursue the dream of opening his own salon.
Timothy John’s Salon-Wisconsin, which included hairstyling, massage and nails, was located in the middle of the business district of downtown Milwaukee and quickly became very successful. For six years, Timothy and his stylists continued training in advanced hair cutting and color techniques through Vidal Sassoon, Toni and Guy, Goldwell, Matrix and Aveda in classes offered exclusively to stylists with detailed experience.
In 1999, Timothy moved to NYC and worked at a Salon in midtown, where he began building a clientele of business professionals and Broadway performers. Two years later, Timothy left to start his own salon, gathering a team of stylists to whom he could pass on his vast knowledge and experience. Under the leadership of Timothy and David Spangenthal, Timothy John’s Salon, NYC, opened in the fall of 2001, with a mission to fill the salon with professional stylists personally trained by Timothy, and who remain enthusiastic and dedicated to continuing their personal growth and education.
