Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar. Originally established in 1992, Gabriela’s was the brainchild of famed restaurateur Gabriela Hernandez. The Marrow is a contemporary German and Italian restaurant located amidst picturesque brownstones and cobblestone streets in the West Village. Run by Chef Harold Dieterle and Alicia Nosenzo, owners of nearby Perilla and Kin Shop, the restaurant aims to be a neighborhood restaurant as much as a destination. The food is inspired by the ethnic heritage of Harold’s parents, reflecting his father’s German ancestry and mother’s Italian lineage. Born in St Angelo dei Lombardi in the Italian province of Avellino, Chef Sena came to attending New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, Stefano studied culinary arts as an apprentice at the Alps Restaurant here on Staten Island under owner/chef Gerard Campitiello. Upon graduation from high school Stefano embarked on a 12-month regional Italian cuisine apprenticeship in Genoa, Italy after which he continued his education at the highly esteemed Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
