The School reflects the spirit of the Mark Morris Dance Group in its celebration of dance and music. We believe that the study of various dance forms and music is essential to a child's education and development. We offer a diverse range of classes for all ages and strive to be a center of creative activity for children, community residents and professional dancers.
In addition to incorporating music and singing courses, we are now able to offer more classes overall with the opening of our newest ground floor studio. The recently expanded space also includes a lobby reception desk, ground floor lounge area, bathrooms, and locker rooms.
Remember, we offer flexible enrollment plans - per semester or in advance for the full year - to fit your family's needs. If you enroll your child for both semesters at the beginning of the fall season, you recieve a special discount. And at the end of each semester, we have open classes which parents are welcome to attend.

The history of Santo Rico dates back to 1995. The name of the dance company is derived from the initial members of the group being half from Santo Domingo (Santo) and half from Puerto Rico (Rico), hence the name "Santo Rico." Santo Rico was initially formed by Wilton Beltre, a Dominican native, who expressed his love for dance by displaying his street style of dancing Mambo/Salsa in local nightclubs in New York City. Prior to forming Santo Rico, Wilton received dancing instruction from the well renowned Eddie Torres. This gave him professionalism, grace and ultimately led to the development of a unique style. During his stint with Mr. Torres Wilton excelled and brought his dancing ability to such a high level that he became one of the most outstanding members of The Eddie Torres Dance Company.

Jorday Rivera is a remarkable woman who leads a double life. By day, Jorday is an honorary Pre Med. Graduate student at St. John's University. The head intern for the chief of cardiology at The Parkway Hospital for the past four years. Within the next six months Jorday will attend either NYU or Columbia Medical School. She will study Neonatal and later become a heart surgeon and open her own practice.

Lotus Music & Dance, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1989 by master Bharata Natyam dancer Kamala Cesar. It is a performance space, sanctuary, and center of education for traditional and indigenous performing arts forms. Alexandra Beller/Dances is an ensemble of highly skilled dancer/actors working on the edge between dance and theater. Rich with personal revelations, performances attempt to move, stimulate, impassion and incite the audience. Ripe with metaphor, abstracted narrative and controversial ideas, the dances traffic through the dangerous territory of homophobia, sexism, and emotional isolationism. The company seeks to intersect distinctions between races, nationalities, sexual orientations and political affiliations through a series of artistic collisions. The creations are a truly unique hybrid form, where speaking and moving are essential forces in the creation of meaning. Dances often pay homage to great writers and fertile landscapes of words are often used to create a sense of place, time and relationship. Movement is a key to the startling, idiosyncratic and mysterious information that resides in the body.

A non-profit organization dedicated to extending the dream, dance legacy, and indomitable spirit of Isadora Duncan. The Foundation is based in New York City and supports the work of its resident performing troupe, Lori Belilove & The Isadora Duncan Dance Company. The Company offers hundreds of performances annually of Isadora's original choreography as passed down through generations of Duncan dancers, in addition to new works, educational workshops and creative programs that nurture the soul and lift the spirit.

Ms. King began dancing professionally in 1978 and has been teaching and choreographing since 1986. She directed the dance departments of St. Peter School, St. Mary and Holy Rosary Schools in Jersey City and has taught in Brooklyn at P.S. 315, School of Performing Arts, Poly Prep, Maple Street School, I.S. 62 Performing Arts Department, Flatbush Tompkins, Bridge Street Head Start, and even the Fort Hamilton Army Base. Ms. King has been credited by the Department of Education with developing "one of the most comprehensive dance programs in the district."
