Connolly Station opened May 19, 2005, named after a train station in Dublin, and proximity to the Belmar Train Station. In 1964 Marguerite and Dominic started serving pizza and sandwiches from a small corner in the back of a bar called the Squan Tavern. Dominic was a meat cutter in a supermarket in Long Branch during the day and used to drive down to Manasquan at night to work at the Squan Tavern serving the foods that he was raised on.
