The Manhattan Mall, one of the few traditional indoor malls in New York City, is located at 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue. There are entrances to the 34th Street-Herald Square subway station and the 33rd Street PATH station on the second basement level.
The mall is located in the high-rise building formerly used by the Gimbels flagship store, which closed in 1986. On April 18, 2007, JCPenney announced that it would open a 150,000 square foot store at the mall, its first in Manhattan. "As you may, or may not be aware, much of what was previously the South Hills Mall in Poughkeepsie, New York has been recently demolished to make way for an outdoor shopping center. This is quite unfortunate, as the South Hills Mall brought so many people in our area such fond memories over the past 30 years. Not to mention, this mall was the original; it introduced the first true indoor shopping mall experience to Poughkeepsie. Thankfully, Silver Cinemas, K-Mart, Shop Rite, and Burlington Coat Factory have remained; which we admire, support, and highly recommend. Although, unfortunately, everything else the mall had to offer has had to go."

The Palisades Center, often referred to as the Palisades Mall, in West Nyack, New York is the twelfth largest Shopping Mall in the United States, and the second largest in the Tri State Area.
The mall has four levels, each of which is approximately the shape of a rectangle. Its anchor stores include Barnes & Noble, BJ's Wholesale Club, Macy's, Home Depot, JC Penney, Lord & Taylor, Staples, Best Buy, and Target. BJ's and Home Depot are not accessible from the mall itself. BJ's is on the bottom level, with Home Depot built on top of it and Target on top of that.
