Established in 1969 as an urban ceramics studio by Robert and Sally Silberberg. Thirty-five years ago Park Slope was hardly the enclave for young professional families it is today, but it was always a neighborhood, and The Clay Pot is essentially a neighborhood store. Joined by their daughter Tara in 1990, the store now reflects her passion for jewelry and has developed into a nationally recognized source for America's premier jewelry designers. Ara, Designer/CEO, was born in Liberia, Africa, where the beauty of the world struck him at an early age. Upon arrival in the United States in 1985, Ara turned to his artistic renderings and sought an outlet for his creative vision. Working from his loft in Soho, Ara began exhibiting his jewelry designs in 1992 at industry trade shows. Quickly finding enthusiastic buyers, Ara invested himself fully into building this business, eventually leading to the opening of his first NYC retail store on the edge of SOHO on Bleecker Street. Ara has now successfully opened the Versani Flagship Boutique in the heart of SOHO on Mercer Street, in addition to opening two more retail stores across the country - the elegant Mulberry Street location in Nolita, NYC, and our southern hot-spot location in Miami's South Beach. Moving forward is a constant goal of Versani Jewelry.

Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. In 1874 his son, Alfred Cartier took over the administration of the company, but it was his sons, Louis, Pierre and Jacques, who were responsible for establishing the famous world-wide brand name of Cartier.
Louis retained responsibility for the Paris branch, moving to the Rue de la Paix, in 1899. He was responsible for some of the company's most celebrated design innovations, like the legendary mystery clocks, high fashion wristwatches and exotic orientalist Art Deco designs, including the daringly colourful "Tutti Frutti" jewels. Jacques took charge of the London operation and eventually moved to the current location at New Bond Street.

The entire process of creating Erwin Pearl jewelry begins at one of several factories. The Armbrust and Kunzman chain divisions have been producing quality fashion pieces for over fifty years, making Erwin Pearl the only major jewelry manufacturer and wholesaler which retains its own chain factory, allowing for the best possible control over quality and production.

Backed by his friends Cole Porter and Vincent Astor, Verdura opened his salon above Fifth Avenue in 1939. Success was almost immediate for the boldly innovative Duke. He became a legend from Hollywood to the palaces of Europe for his elegant and whimsical jewelry. Today, women of style continue to adore Verdura’s classic elegance.

On display are tantalizing examples of mixed semiprecious stones of blue and gray hues set in 14-karat white gold, and sterling rings and necklaces. Her rings are often used as alternatives to the traditional wedding band, and her earrings and bracelets are office-appropriate. De Verteuil studied fashion design at FIT, and then decided to become an accessories designer. With a background that includes accessory design for Yves St. Laurent, De Verteuil is also an instructor at Parsons School of Design, teaching courses in sterling silver jewelry, beading on fabric, applique, and combined beading and embroidery, the latter being one of the most sought-after accessory trends for the holiday.

During the 1960s and 1970s the firm popularized fashion trends such as the beatnik look, tweed suits, tight pants and tall, thigh-high boots, including the creation of arguably the most famous classic tuxedo suit for women in 1966, Le Smoking suit. He is the first to popularize ready-to-wear in an attempt to democratize fashion. He is also the first designer to use black models in his runway shows. Among his muses were Loulou de La Falaise, the daughter of a French marquis and an Anglo-Irish fashion model, Betty Catroux, the half-Brazilian daughter of an American diplomat. Source

In 1994, Judith Leiber received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers.
