The general public has always and immediately associated the name Frau with the idea of quality and design furnishing and seating in particular. A name that is so characteristic and instantly linked to German sounds, but which is, in actual fact, simply that of the company’s founder, Sardinian-born Renzo Frau, who, over time, has successfully taken the 'Made in Italy’ style and quality beyond national confines. There have been a great many important moments in the history of Poltrona Frau, and they have all contributed in some way to creating the legend of this company that was founded in Turin and is today a citizen of the world.

Frank Rogin, a third-generation antiques dealer, has been in business since 1993. His inventory focuses on European modernist designers and architects who have come to define the look of 20th century public and private spaces. Spanning the various modern era European design movements, the inventory includes unique pieces as well as those that were in both limited and large production.

Located in midtown Manhattan at 200 Lexington Avenue, the New York Design Center (NYDC) is the country's oldest furniture and design building. The variety of residential & contract showrooms, diversity of product lines, and on-going support of design trade associations make it an invaluable resource to the design trade.

R Artists + Designers are those whose work we consistently find to be among the most innovative, iconic and finely crafted of their time. We have chosen to focus more closely on these designers as the core of our collection and our exhibition and publication program.
The historical designers include those whose work is widely recognized as setting the tone for the modernist movement worldwide, as well as those who were no less influential but whose work is only now coming to light. The contemporary designers in this group are individuals whose pieces we think represent exceptional new ways of working with materials in the design of forms for both function and sculpture.

Donghia is a privately owned furniture and textile company, founded by Angelo Donghia who, in his brief lifetime, established the high standards which have become the company’s hallmark. Donghia’s uniquely focused look is achieved through classically inspired yet distinctly modern product. Sold worldwide (in the USA, to the trade only), Donghia presents “American design” at its best.

Paul Vetrano, supplies the chairs for about 40 percent of Manhattan's restaurants, in the showroom of his business, New York Chair Co. in Manhattan. Whatever the cuisine, restaurant supplier Paul Vetrano has the seat to match. He should know Vetrano sells chairs and stools to 40 percent of New York City's 10,000 eateries and many outside of the city, from dumpy diners and Asian noodle houses to sleek coffee bars and posh French brasserie's. While a chair may not be the focal point of the restaurant, says Vetrano, it's rolled in the overall dinning experience cannot be under estimated.

Located on W.14th St. in New York City’s Meatpacking District, our Studio is sited in a recently landmarked building from the early 1900s. Following in the area’s industrial vein, the 4,000 square foot loft environment is characterized by raw concrete floors and exposed brick walls. The neighborhood has become home to high–end designer clothing boutiques, multi–starred restaurants and galleries. One of the only DWR Studios to feature weekly window displays, the space displays a wide selection of seating, bedroom designs, workspace and outdoor furniture, lighting and accessories. Studio Proprietor Brian Lynch oversees the Studio and provides personalized, knowledgeable assistance along with his staff.

Most people associate the name Aga with good food and fine living. And although it’s often thought of as quintessentially British, the Aga actually began life in Sweden. The celebrated cooker found in 750,000 households worldwide was invented by Dr Gustav Dalén, a blind Nobel Prize-winning physicist. Appalled that his wife and their maid had to constantly tend to their old-fashioned range, Dalén set out to design a modern cooker that would look after itself. It’s unlikely Dalén could have predicted that his invention would go on to be widely acclaimed as a design icon, but it has. In the year 2000, the BBC published a retrospective of the 20th Century highlighting what it considered to be the top three design icons: first was the Coca-Cola® contour bottle, second was the VW™ Bug and third was the Aga cooker.
