Alma is a landmark in the New York dining scene. Built from the ground up, handcrafted by the four owners, each of the three floors offers a unique atmosphere. In 2002, Alma opened its doors under the auspice of Chef Gary Jacobson. Carrying on his tradition, Chef Hans Dannerhoj continues to create sophisticated and memorable cuisine. Guests flock to the roof deck year-round for brunch and dinner. The roof deck is heated in the winter and open air in the summer with unrivaled panoramic views of Manhattan. From the second floor dining room or the deck the sunsets captured at Alma are like no other.

"We have three dining rooms, a large bar with dining and smoking permitted. Seating for 80 people at our outside cafe during May through October. Located at our famous outside Mall, on the well known corner of Mulberry Street, where the GoodFellas walk by. There are plenty of colorful tables, umbrellas, music, singing and real good Italian food. That is what our restaurant in old fashioned Little Italy is all about."

More commonly found on everyday dining table is known as "ofukuro no aji," or taste of mom's home cooking prepared with fresh ingredients with a high concern for overall nutritious values and balance.
OOTOYA's specialty is this traditional home cooking in set-meal style, or teishoku. Every day, Ootoya works with passion to pursuit perfect fusion of fresh ingredients, preparation techniques, and skilled chef. Ootoya is delighted to introduce teishoku as an addition to sushi, tempura, and other Japanese menus currently available in New York.
