Prime Skate Shop was Established in April of 2006. But the idea was burning for the past 10 years. Having been skateboarding for 20 years, the three owners Rich Petersen, Kevin Rochon & William Snell who have been friends since childhood, have grownup snowboarding and skateboarding. Lived and worked at mountains in the winter to snowboard as much as possible as well as built skateboard halfpipes in back yards and skated anywhere there was concrete or wood. All of these things had fueled the desire to one day go into business selling and promoting the sports that they are so passionate about. After months of planning reasserting locations and building out the store. Prime skateshop was born April 8th 2006. The Home of the "Ministaz"

Shields Skatepark has over 18,600 square feet of quarterpipes, ledges, rails, gaps, custom ramps, wedges, boxes, banks, spines, roll-ins, a vert wall and featuring a 46-foot-long, eight-foot-high halfpipe.

In 1938, mountain climbers Lloyd and Mary Anderson joined with 21 fellow Northwest climbers to found Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI). The group structured REI as a consumer cooperative to purchase high-quality ice axes and climbing equipment from Europe because such gear could not be purchased locally. The word quickly spread, and soon many other outdoors people joined the co-op. As REI grew, so too did the range of outdoor gear available to the co-op members.
