Beginning with a team approach to instruction and pupil services in 9th grade our students are, during their first weeks of high school, exposed to a variety of instructional strategies and support services in order to best meet their individual needs. In English for 2004, the passing rate stood at 66% up from 49% in 2003 (state avg.77%). In Physics, Hempstead had a 88% passing rate, compared to a 81% state average.
