Prime Skate Shop was Established in April of 2006. But the idea was burning for the past 10 years. Having been skateboarding for 20 years, the three owners Rich Petersen, Kevin Rochon & William Snell who have been friends since childhood, have grownup snowboarding and skateboarding. Lived and worked at mountains in the winter to snowboard as much as possible as well as built skateboard halfpipes in back yards and skated anywhere there was concrete or wood. All of these things had fueled the desire to one day go into business selling and promoting the sports that they are so passionate about. Heritage Surf and Sport was founded over 35 years ago by Dan Heritage. The first store location was in Sea Isle City New Jersey. Today you can also find shops in Ocean City and Margate. Skate Penn has been operating in State College, PA since October 2007. After Shop Co-Owner Christian Pfeifer relocated from Colorado and landed in State College, Pennsylvania, the options for purchasing skate gear were slim, and even the places that had it available had very little knowledge about skateboarding. Products were only available in stores that carried multiple types of products, therefore, there was no real "Skate Shop" for local riders to call home. With that in mind, Christian got on the phone to his brother "Shaggy" Pfeifer, who was living in St. Petersburg, Florida, and told him of the need for a Skate Shop in town. Shaggy decided he would come check out the scene and a few weeks later he visited State College, and after spending a weekend in town, and seeing the potential, he relocated and the concept of Skate Penn was born, and then in October of 2007, Skate Penn opened its doors in the original location in the Fraser St Alley.

Mike Maldonado a veteran professional in the industry along with amateur Kyle Nicholson joined the Nocturnal family, thus adding a new dimension of talent.
