Red Rock West Saloon was founded in April 1996. It was formerly known as the East Boondocks, a blues bar where jazz musicians, both famous and infamous, would drink and jam. It was considered risqué for it’s day. Many a former patron will come in and reminisce about their crazy antics at "the old Boondocks. "Now, it’s a rock n’ roll bar with a bit of country mixed in, but the wildness is still the greatest part of this corner local.

The Boathouse Bar and Grill has been in operation since 1998 and is owned by Tim and Matt Harmon. The original Boathouse was located at 1401 Highway 71 in Belmar and moved to its current location at 1309 Main Street in Belmar, in November 2000. The landmark tavern at Five Points in Mercerville was built in the mid-1700s. The exact date is not known, but it is rumored that George Washington and his troops passed by the tavern on their way to the “Battle of Princeton”. In later years, the tavern was owned by many prominent area families and can lay claim to the oldest liquor license issued in Hamilton Township.
