VFitness is a 5-year old personal training service in New York City. The company was started by Head Trainer, Victor Rojas from his passion in weight lifting, power lifting, healthy eating and boxing.<br> Victor, himself, created a customized program to help himself and started his journey for physical fitness at the age of 15, losing over 100 pounds in one year. <br> Since then, he has spent the last 15 years studying weight lifting, power lifting, boxing and various martial arts in which he developed an eclectic form of training which has proven to be the best form of losing weight, improving athleticism, and overall optimal physical health.

Shidogakuin is a Kendo organization that includes many affiliated dojos along the east coast, including: New York City, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and Washington, DC. Its members include a number of accomplished practitioners in both kendo and iaido. <br> Shidogakuin welcomes both novices and experienced students. The dojo believes in emphasizing the fundamentals that will enable practitioners to continuously develop their skills and hone their spirit for a lifetime of rewarding practice. Vladimir Borodin was born in Russia city of Odessa. He started his martial arts carrier at age 7, at age 15 became Junior National Champion in boxing. At age 18 became Soviet Army Champion in karate. In 1980 became 11th USSR National Champion in karate. From 1984 to 1991 trained in kickboxing and Muaythai. Vladimir Borodin trained in Amsterdam, Netherlands, London, England and Bangkok, Changmai, Uttradit, Thailand under supervision of Great Muaythai Masters like Master Pimu, Tom Harinck, Tony Moore. Vladimir is one of the New York's latest instructors for Muaythai fighters. After opening his Gym in Brooklyn, New York he raised many National, International and World Champions in kickboxing and Muaythai divisions.

For three decades, Sheldon Elliott Ruskin has been passing down the discipline of traditional Shotokan karate to students of all levels. His credentials run deep—holding certifications through both the Japan Karate Association in Tokyo and the International Shotokan Karate Federation, with six years of direct training experience in Japan itself. As a former US National Karate Champion, he's guided countless young athletes toward their own competitive victories at regional and national tournaments. Winter evenings bring a particular focus to the dojo, where the quiet intensity of training contrasts with the stillness outside, making it an ideal season to commit to building a solid foundation in the fundamentals.

The Society for Martial Arts Instruction is a non-profit organization located at 4 West 18th Street, NYC, NY 10011. Shihan Alfred trained for years with many of the World Kanreikai karate instructors and students and has maintained a warm and mutually respectful relationship with them. We have been invited to their in-house tournament which features small divisions, reasonable registration fees and many awards for the junior participants. Adults will be welcome this year to do kata and fight semi-knockdown.

Tessa Gordon,Chief Instructor Originally from Toronto, Canada, Tessa Gordon holds a 5th degree black belt in the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do. Gordon was a member of the 1988 Canadian Olympic Team, nine-time Canadian National Champion, World Championship Medalist and Pan American Champion. Today, Gordon has been practicing Tae Kwon Do for over 35 years. As a young child, Gordon began training in basic kicking and punching techniques at home. As her progress and enjoyment of the art became evident, her parents enrolled her in the Jong Park Institute of Tae Kwon Do. She found the discipline required for traditional training incredibly demanding both emotionally and physically. Yet with the encouragement of her parents, she continued to train.

Located in Queens, New York, was established in 1995. Currently located in a brand new, state of the art 4,500 sq. ft. facility, PMA offers programs for all ages. The youth program is age specific and is targeted towards the developmental stage of each child.

Omni Martial Arts offers classes in an eclectic style of self defense for children and adults. <br> The OMNI ADULTS program makes getting in shape fun and exciting. The curriculum focuses on grappling, striking and no-nonsense self defense techniques from Jiu Jitsu, Judo, kickboxing and Israeli martial arts while emphasizing physical fitness through cardiovascular and resistance exercises. There is no belt system or gi worn, but adults will work their way from novice to intermediate, advanced, and finally expert level, each denoted by a different color t-shirt. <br> OMNI KIDS was developed with assistance from a licensed children's therapist and emphasizes discipline, respect and self control while focusing on Judo and kickboxing techniques. Children will learn how to fall, roll, throw, punch, kick and grapple in a safe, nurturing environment. Kids wear a judo gi (traditional uniform) and will earn colored belts to help measure progress and encourage them to be their best.
