The mission of RFK Community High School is to provide all students with a high quality, comprehensive, and personalized education by incorporating the use of technology and numerous research-based teaching styles into our academic program. In addition, through the use of our service learning program, we aim to expose our students to the community around them and encourage them to become civic-minded people who are eager to support their community.

Our mission is to produce young adults, who are happy, well adjusted and academically well prepared to face the challenges of the future and to contribute significantly to societal progress. The highlight of our strong instructional program is our interdisciplinary approach to teaching English and Social Studies as well as Math and Science within a guidance-oriented house structure as it encourages success in our ninth graders. The school's slogan, "Diversity is our strength" is derived from our multicultural population and promotes a learning environment based on self-discipline and mutual respect for all people. It is our goal to develop in each student a curiosity for continued learning throughout life.

Jamaica High School is also located near Thomas A. Edison Vocational and Technical High School. Edison is north of Jamaica High School, separated by 84th Avenue and the Jamaica High School cutting edge and state-of-the-art Track and Football Field. Hillcrest High School is another nearby high school. Hillcrest is located at 87th Avenue and Parsons Boulevard, right near Gateway High School for the Sciences

In 1984, Townsend Harris was reopened with a new location and student body but the same spirit and desires as before. Beginning with the first new class, a tradition of expressing this spirit is found in the pledge the Townsend Harris student makes during his or her first year, known as the Ephebic Oath. The present school has had, from its inception, this rich tradition supported by an active group of alumni. The alumni arrange internships for students, serve as advisors and mentors and raise funds for special projects.

K-12<br> The Nightingale-Bamford School has provided a rigorous college preparatory education for girls and young women since 1920. Today there are approximately 530 students enrolled at Nightingale from grades K-12. K-12 - The Dalton School is an independent, co-educational day school (K-12), founded in 1919 by the renowned progressive educator, Helen Parkhurst. Dalton is recognized for its rigorous, innovative educational curriculum and offers its 1300 students a breadth of stimulating and challenging programs taught by dedicated, professional faculty. <br> The school’s First Program (K-3) occupies three adjoining townhouses on East 91st Street in New York City. Middle and High School students attend classes nearby in our building on East 89th Street. CSI High School’s consistent, curriculum-wide emphasis on the infusion of international content and study of international issues provides a unifying framework for the school’s instructional program. St. Peter’s is operated by the Christian Brothers of St. John Baptist de La Salle, a worldwide Religious Order of 14,000 men with a history of 300 years of teaching experience. St. Peter’s is a part of a system of 17 schools operated by the Christian Bothers in the NY/NJ area. <br> St. Peter’s is a non-profit New York State Regents accredited high school accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and schools. It maintains a policy of non-discrimination of acceptance on the basis of ethnic or religious background.

Long noted as one of the best schools in the area, the magazine U.S. News and World Report named Farrell as one of the finest high schools in the United States. The independent study concluded that Farrell attained an extremely high level of distinction in every facet of school life. Further honors followed as the school was selected as one of only 16 to be named as New York City´s "Super Schools". The Daily News cited Farrell´s overall commitment to excellence and its dedication to the student body in its choice as an elite school.

N-12. Staten Island Academy is a coeducational college-preparatory day school educating students from age four through high school. The Academy was founded in 1884 and since that time it has stood as a beacon of educational excellence. <br> The school is the oldest private school on Staten Island and it is proud of its unique status as the only independent school in the borough.
