David Yurman is the founder of the David Yurman jewelry company. His signature jewelry line is comprised of "cable" jewelry, made from twisted sterling silver ropes.
Yurman established his company in 1979. Yurman, along with his wife Sybil, have sought, in the company's words, "to fuse art, fashion and fine jewelry.". The company is also notable for its use of supermodels in its advertising campaigns. Past campaigns have included models such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Amber Valletta and more. In 2006, Naomi Watts replaced Valletta as the face of the brand. Source

The Zales® story began in 1924 in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Morris (M.B.) Zale, William Zale, and Ben Lipshy applied their vision of providing customers with quality merchandise at the lowest possible price to the opening of the first Zales® Jewelers. Their idea to offer a higher priced product to everyone was implemented through a revolutionary credit plan of "a penny down and a dollar a week." Although this marketing strategy proved to be successful, it was also the friendly customer service and dedicated employees that led to the jeweler's expansion, reaching 12 stores in Oklahoma and Texas by 1941.

Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. In 1874 his son, Alfred Cartier took over the administration of the company, but it was his sons, Louis, Pierre and Jacques, who were responsible for establishing the famous world-wide brand name of Cartier.
Louis retained responsibility for the Paris branch, moving to the Rue de la Paix, in 1899. He was responsible for some of the company's most celebrated design innovations, like the legendary mystery clocks, high fashion wristwatches and exotic orientalist Art Deco designs, including the daringly colourful "Tutti Frutti" jewels. Jacques took charge of the London operation and eventually moved to the current location at New Bond Street.
