The Schenley Park Skating Rink is open for ice skating during the winter. Throughout the winter the rink operates daily and offers a variety of public sessions and special sessions such as family nights, adults only nights and college ID discount sessions. The facility hosts three special events: "Skate with Santa" in December, "Mascot Skate" in January, and "Valentines on Ice" in February. On September 11, 2001, shortly after terrorists flew airplanes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and into the Pentagon, the forty passengers and crewmembers on United Airlines Flight 93 fought a battle in the sky over Pennsylvania. These forty heroes won their battle against terrorists and thwarted a planned attack on our nation’s capital, saving countless numbers of lives, but sacrificing their own in a field just east of Pittsburgh, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.<br/> Because of the quick and determined actions of the passengers and crew, Flight 93 was the only one of the four hijacked aircraft that failed to reach the terrorists' intended target on September 11, 2001. The passengers and crew showed unity, courage, and defiance in the face of adversity. The Flight 93 National Memorial will be a place dedicated to the memory of these great heroes; a place for future generations to learn about their actions; a place for healing and understanding.

The Pocono Indian Museum is the only museum in Northeastern Pennsylvania dedicated to showing the history of the Delaware Indian. The museum will both inform and, perhaps, shock you. Skate Penn has been operating in State College, PA since October 2007. After Shop Co-Owner Christian Pfeifer relocated from Colorado and landed in State College, Pennsylvania, the options for purchasing skate gear were slim, and even the places that had it available had very little knowledge about skateboarding. Products were only available in stores that carried multiple types of products, therefore, there was no real "Skate Shop" for local riders to call home. With that in mind, Christian got on the phone to his brother "Shaggy" Pfeifer, who was living in St. Petersburg, Florida, and told him of the need for a Skate Shop in town. Shaggy decided he would come check out the scene and a few weeks later he visited State College, and after spending a weekend in town, and seeing the potential, he relocated and the concept of Skate Penn was born, and then in October of 2007, Skate Penn opened its doors in the original location in the Fraser St Alley.
