What can you tell me about the clothes you are wearing? At the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, they have dedicated themselves to the interpretation of fashion, and exhibit it for the world at large. Known as the most fashionable museum in New York, this Manhattan hotspot allows visitors to not only see some of the most fantastic pieces of clothing in existence but gives them the opportunity to learn the history, cultural influences, and inspiration behind the clothing from a designers perspective. The museum hosts a variety of permanent and travelling collections which covers over 250 years of fashion history. On the three levels of this New York City Museum, visitors will find free lectures, panel discussions, fashion conversations, and guided tours. In Spring 2012, the museum will be featuring the work of more than 800 students receiving AAS and BFA degrees from the School of Art & Design. This extensive exhibition will have materials from 17 different areas of study and is the culmination of these students’ experiences in the demanding and diverse design programs. The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology is a one-of-a-kind experience that broadens minds and presents a beautiful vision of design.
