he history of Jamaica Hospital is a long and colorful one. It is filled with defining moments, colorful characters, and connections to events affecting the local community, the City of New York, and the world. <br> Jamaica Hospital has undergone a major transformation over the past 25 years of its existence. Emerging from near oblivion brought about by financial decline, and operational difficulty caused by an old and outdated facility, Jamaica Hospital is today a larger, stronger and more prominent medical and community health institution.

Forest Hills Hospital is a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. As a 222-bed community hospital located in an ethnically diverse residential neighborhood in northern Queens County, it is the Hospital’s mission to provide our community with the highest quality and most compassionate healthcare in the county. The Hospital’s medical staff and employees ensure that at all times there is sensitivity and respect for the cultural needs of our patients and their families.

Founded in 1884 by a group of community minded women who set up a room with one bed in a rented house, Flushing Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) today is a 293-bed voluntary, not-for-profit teaching hospital. The medical center, located in the city's most culturally diverse borough, has served the health care needs of the community for more than a century, and has, over the years, become a solid and vital part of the infrastructure of the city itself.
