Brian Buck and Carlo Leo opened Plank Eye Board Shop in July of 2008. It is located in the old Murphy’s 5&10 building in the center of Lincoln Ave in Pittsburgh’s suburb of Bellevue. Plank Eye Board Shop is skateboarder owned and operated. The shop has everything you need to get you skateboarding.

Greg and Chris Brauch established Final Boarding in 1996, founding their business on the belief that skateboarders deserve the same customer service and reliable sales staff as any other retail shopper. They train our employees to be salespeople, not just clerks. They are educated about the products they sell and are there to lend their knowledge and support. What started in 1938 as a tight-knit crew of Pacific Northwest climbers pooling resources together has grown into something far bigger. Lloyd and Mary Anderson connected with 21 other passionate mountaineers who were frustrated by the lack of quality climbing gear available in their region, so they banded together and created a cooperative structure to import superior equipment directly from Europe. That simple idea—members helping members access the best outdoor tools—caught on fast. Other adventurers in the community recognized what they'd stumbled onto and joined in. Over the decades, the selection expanded well beyond those original ice axes and ropes, evolving into a comprehensive collection that keeps pace with how people actually spend their time outside. Even on those quiet, crisp winter afternoons when snow clings to the gear displays and fewer customers browse the aisles, the place maintains that original spirit of community and shared passion for getting outside, no matter the season.

Skate Penn has been operating in State College, PA since October 2007. After Shop Co-Owner Christian Pfeifer relocated from Colorado and landed in State College, Pennsylvania, the options for purchasing skate gear were slim, and even the places that had it available had very little knowledge about skateboarding. Products were only available in stores that carried multiple types of products, therefore, there was no real "Skate Shop" for local riders to call home. With that in mind, Christian got on the phone to his brother "Shaggy" Pfeifer, who was living in St. Petersburg, Florida, and told him of the need for a Skate Shop in town. Shaggy decided he would come check out the scene and a few weeks later he visited State College, and after spending a weekend in town, and seeing the potential, he relocated and the concept of Skate Penn was born, and then in October of 2007, Skate Penn opened its doors in the original location in the Fraser St Alley.
