Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier. In 1874 his son, Alfred Cartier took over the administration of the company, but it was his sons, Louis, Pierre and Jacques, who were responsible for establishing the famous world-wide brand name of Cartier.
Louis retained responsibility for the Paris branch, moving to the Rue de la Paix, in 1899. He was responsible for some of the company's most celebrated design innovations, like the legendary mystery clocks, high fashion wristwatches and exotic orientalist Art Deco designs, including the daringly colourful "Tutti Frutti" jewels. Jacques took charge of the London operation and eventually moved to the current location at New Bond Street. Michael has always designed collections using classic materials that he is inherently drawn to: silver, gold, diamonds, an endless variety of semi-precious stones, as well as more unusual natural materials found in travels around the world. Early in his career, he discovered the ancient technique of granulation, in which metal is heated and formed into tiny spheres which are affixed in various patterns. Incorporating this design element alongside clean crisp lines into much of his work provides a signature that is uniquely his own. Using this wide mix of materials and an extensive vocabulary of design elements allows him to present collections that combine his modern, functional sensibility with an infinite respect for the hues, textures, and compositions abundant in nature.

New York City based jewelery designer Wendy Mink has been creating beautiful pieces for over 18 years, having evolved from small scale design and manufacturing into a substantial operation, combining great quality, workmanship and innovative design.
The company was founded on Wendy's background as a painter & her strong interest in South East Asia, both lead to extensive travel which eventually nurtured an immense appreciation of the beauty and craftsmanship behind the jewelry and textiles associated with local women of Nepal and India. Wendy went on to formulate the company shortly after returning from the East, rapidly earning a solid reputation and securing a place in the competitive jewelry industry. The Wendy Mink Jewelry studio is located in NYC's Tribeca neighborhood where a team of Tibetan jewelry artisans work right alongside production sales staff. These artisans have collaborated with Wendy for more than 17 years & lend their own skills & technique to design direction. |

The diamond is the most important part of the ring and no two are exactly alike. The value and price depends on four factors. Clarity, color, cut, and carat weight. A diamond weight is expressed in carats with 100 points to a carat. Cut is also very important. A properly cut stone shines with a fire and brilliance, the likes of which are not seen in any other precious stone. Color also plays an important role in determining the price of the stone. The nearer a stone gets to being colorless, the greater its value. The final factor affecting price is clarity. Most stones contain natural imperfections.

The Zales® story began in 1924 in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Morris (M.B.) Zale, William Zale, and Ben Lipshy applied their vision of providing customers with quality merchandise at the lowest possible price to the opening of the first Zales® Jewelers. Their idea to offer a higher priced product to everyone was implemented through a revolutionary credit plan of "a penny down and a dollar a week." Although this marketing strategy proved to be successful, it was also the friendly customer service and dedicated employees that led to the jeweler's expansion, reaching 12 stores in Oklahoma and Texas by 1941.

Jewelry is a major part of Primavera Gallery. We offer fine, rare and collectible jewels spanning over 200 years of jewelry design, with pieces dating from the late 17th century up until today. Our emphasis, however, is on signed pieces, Art Deco through the 1950's. In addition, we will be featuring the work of individual contemporary jewelry designers of special merit. We are not interested in large diamonds or masses of precious stones - this, for us, is geology rather than jewelry. We are interested in great style, exciting design and integrity of workmanship. Our collection includes all of the major individual designers, as well as the great jewelry houses.

Karen Karch’s inspirations are often derived from the idea of contradiction. Karen Karch’s raw refined designs illustrate her mastery of juxtaposition and her ability to find beauty in the unconventional. Her designs explore the duality of the natural world by embracing imperfections and playing upon opposites: glamorous & gritty; luxurious & spare; dark & luminous; structured & organic.
All Karen Karch designs are artfully engineered to accentuate its specific gemstone or metal – Karen Karch architects each piece’s setting to bring out the stone’s brilliance, which is also achieved by her unique combinations of gemstones and metals. Black diamonds are set in 18 karat rose gold to illuminate their brilliance. Colorless diamonds burn bright when set against platinum’s cool luster. And champagne and cognac diamonds truly glow when surrounded by 18 karat white gold. |

Baccarat is relocated to a legendary place situated at 11, place des Etats-Unis in Paris. The former muse of this unique private mansion, Marie-Laure de Noailles (1902-1970) threw magical parties there and in this magnificent place of pomp and tradition, made a salon dedicated to painters, writers and musicians. Time and again she would reorganize the layout and design of the mansion to suit her mood.
No setting could be better suited as the new home of Baccarat. Philippe Starck was immediately carried away by the idea of developing this magnificent project. He was given carte blanche and developed the extravagant scheme, full of wonderment and surprise for this leading international luxury brand. |
