“Gotta Dance” Studio opened its doors on September 15, 2001. Owner, Miss Terri as she is known by her students, starting dancing at the age of 5 and always dreamed, that one day, she would open her own studio. She continued taking dance classes and was also a member of a local community theatre group for many years. There she was able to learn and develop not only her love of dance, but also her love for music, singing and acting. The performing arts has always been a big part of Miss Terri's life.
Mr. Ron & Miss Terri decided the time had come for them to fulfill the life long “Dream” and together they started searching for the perfect place. Their hope was to find a small studio where students could come and learn to love dance & music while having fun in a friendly and safe environment. Today, they are very proud of their accomplishments and are extremely grateful to all the wonderful families who have touched their lives. Their goal is to continue with this very gratifying work and in the process make “Gotta Dance” Studio, for all the families who are a part of it, a place that will be remembered and remain forever close to their hearts!

Alexandra Beller/Dances is an ensemble of highly skilled dancer/actors working on the edge between dance and theater. Rich with personal revelations, performances attempt to move, stimulate, impassion and incite the audience. Ripe with metaphor, abstracted narrative and controversial ideas, the dances traffic through the dangerous territory of homophobia, sexism, and emotional isolationism. The company seeks to intersect distinctions between races, nationalities, sexual orientations and political affiliations through a series of artistic collisions. The creations are a truly unique hybrid form, where speaking and moving are essential forces in the creation of meaning. Dances often pay homage to great writers and fertile landscapes of words are often used to create a sense of place, time and relationship. Movement is a key to the startling, idiosyncratic and mysterious information that resides in the body.

Battery Dance Company is dedicated to the pursuit of artistic excellence and the availability of the Arts to everyone. Since its inception in 1992, as a not-for-profit cultural and charitable organization, The Djoniba Dance & Drum Centre has strived to celebrate the global diversity and to bridge the gap between all ages, races and cultures through world dance and music.
The Centre is one of New York City's largest minority-owned dance studios, and is the only cultural center in the world specializing in multi-ethnic dance and drum. The Centre serves thousands of adults and children annually and has a roster of 35 master instructors, dancers and drummers, who teach more than 100 dance classes per week in more than 30 different styles of movement and music from around the world.

Established by artistic director Igal Perry in 1983. Since its inception, the Center's goal has been to provide a broad spectrum of dance education within a nurturing and professional environment, preparing dancers for the continually evolving international dance arena. The school at Peridance Center offers an open program of classes, a comprehensive Foreign Students Program, and a graded children's program named the PeriChild Program. Cathy's Dance Studio was founded in 1956 by Miss Cathy Dooley and has carried out one tradition for over the past 53 years - a mission of sharing the art of dance with children of all ages and adding the excitement of cutting edge dance techniques.

He was born July 3,1950 in the same hospital as Tito Puente; raised by his Puerto Rican parents in Spanish Harlem, a.k.a. El Barrio, New York City. Torres's mother, a hospital worker; his father an inventive plumber, sparked Eddie's knack for inventing. No dancers or musicians in the gene pool to Eddie's best knowledge.

The studios are large, modern, fully mirrored with sprung floors specifically designed for dance. It is here that our students are trained in the disciplines of Ballet, Broadway Theater Dance, Musical Theater and Tap. Registration is on all levels, beginner to professional, children (3 years old) to adults. There is live musical accompaniment for most classes. Our Summer Workshop is an outgrowth of this school.
The American Theater Dance began in 1982 as The American Dancemachine, a professional company and school, whose mission it was to reconstruct, perform and preserve the great dance numbers from Broadway shows. The history of the Arthur Murray Franchised Dance studios began in 1912 with a man named Arthur Murray, an American symbol of entrepreneurial success and social dancing. Murray was among the first to use advertising techniques considered cutting edge at the time. His concept of selling dance lessons by mail, one step at a time, took the use of direct mail to a new level.

Jorday Rivera is a remarkable woman who leads a double life. By day, Jorday is an honorary Pre Med. Graduate student at St. John's University. The head intern for the chief of cardiology at The Parkway Hospital for the past four years. Within the next six months Jorday will attend either NYU or Columbia Medical School. She will study Neonatal and later become a heart surgeon and open her own practice.

Founded in 1981, bridges cultural barriers through the universal language of dance. From its earliest recognition on the world stage in 1982 as “best company” at the International Dance Festival of Paris, the company has succeeded for over two decades.

Konajilo Luseni is a native of Brooklyn, NY and has been dancing since the age of five. With a dance background spanning genres including modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and African, Kona has choreographed, performed and taught for various children, teen and adult groups in the New York area.
Kona's love for dance set her sights to explore a new style of movement: Salsa/Mambo on2. After a year of basic training at La Salsa De Hoy, her passion for this exciting form of dance led her to seek more advance instruction at Salsa Dance Studio.

BBT is a dance school dedicated to providing the highest quality dance education for girls and boys ages 2-19, as well as adults. Through the discipline and dedication dance requires, BBT molds and develops healthy, passionate, responsible, and well-rounded individuals who have the potential to succeed in any field.
BBT draws on the rich traditions of Russian ballet. In addition to teaching all students in classical ballet using the Russian Method, we teach them folk & character dance, modern and popular dance, ballroom and Latin dance, staging for the students original and contemporary choreography. Our instructors have graduated from the world's finest ballet schools & colleges and have performed with the most prestigious ballet companies throughout the world.

The launching of a dance company in 2004 and expansion into the beautiful, spacious studios on Prospect Avenue is a longtime goal realized.
