Prior to opening in New Jersey, Richard Hopkins established Pleasure Movers in 1982 which was located in Staten Island, NY. In 1989 he moved his family to New Jersey and founded Freehold Movers. Freehold Movers is a family owned and operated business. Over the years we’ve grown from operating one truck to having over ten trucks and tractor trailers with a storage facility as well.

In 1964 Marguerite and Dominic started serving pizza and sandwiches from a small corner in the back of a bar called the Squan Tavern. Dominic was a meat cutter in a supermarket in Long Branch during the day and used to drive down to Manasquan at night to work at the Squan Tavern serving the foods that he was raised on.

Having spent my first career in education and been a lover of good books, I hoped my next career would include books.
