La Gran Via Bakery was founded January 20,1978. Since then our business has been very successful. We attribute this great accomplishment of over 20 years to our faithful customers who continue to stand by us and have supported us for many years.

What you're stepping into is a legacy stretching back nearly a century—Joe Angel's great-great-grandfather first fired up a bakery in Jerusalem back in 1929, and that same passion for baking has moved through four generations of his family. Joe learned the craft the old-fashioned way, working alongside his father and grandfather in their family ovens before opening this location over two decades ago. Today, those decades of muffins, cakes, and countless happy customers reflect skills passed down through generations of bakers who refused to let their craft fade away.

When Harry Rosen and master baker Eigel Peterson joined forces back in 1950, they started something that would captivate palates for generations to come—a cheesecake recipe so distinctive it became the backbone of what this place does best. That same formula has traveled through the Rosen family across three generations, remaining largely unchanged despite the decades that have passed. What's striking is how seriously the operation takes its craft: only three individuals have ever held the role of cheesecake supervisor since day one, and even now, a single person shepherds every stage from blending through final bake. During winter months, there's something especially comforting about stepping inside and catching that aroma—the richness of cream cheese and butter mingling with the warmth of a bustling kitchen.

The scents of freshly baked breads, pastries, vanilla, lemon, cinnamon and almonds tickle your nose upon walking into Villabate Pasticceria and Bakery. Delectable fillings of zabaglione, vanilla rum and cannoli cream made with ricotta imported from Sicily tantalize the tastebuds and overwhelm the eyes with artistry.

A native of Harlem, New York, a young Raven "Cake Man" Dennis, III, dreamed of going south to grandma's house and soon his dreams were fulfilled. At the age of four, he wanted to do everything he could to stay outside. Striving to be like grandma, Raven grew flowers and vegetables, and made mud pies and mud cakes, while his grandmother baked and cooked family dinners.

Established in 1927, Scotto's uses only the finest ingredients and proven traditional baking methods to ensure that our cookies, breads, cakes and pastries are of the finest quality money can buy.
