Karine Newborn was born and raised in Paris France where she studied ballet with teachers from the Paris conservatory and The Paris Opera, she also studied jazz, modern, placement and voice. At the age of 15 she started working in some of the most renowned modern jazz companies in Paris and performed in "Cats" (Paris). She continued her career in France until she moved to America to pursue bigger dreams. She worked as a dancer,Choreographer and dance teacher for well over 2 decades, and had the joy of performing in many stage shows ("Golden Boys", "Cats", "Aida" (Broadway) and numerous music videos & movies ("South Pacific" with Glenn Close, "Do You Want To Dance" etc.) trade show industrial (Nike, Asix, Abba & many more).

The launching of a dance company in 2004 and expansion into the beautiful, spacious studios on Prospect Avenue is a longtime goal realized. These seven years of extraordinary growth, since June of 2002, are a testament to Ms. King's dedication to creating an atmosphere that provides a fertile training ground for dancers and a place for teachers/choreographers to present new and original works. Melissa Marotto has been dancing for over 20 years, beginning her dance training at The Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Massachusetts. She earned her BFA in dance with a concentration in pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory, where she revived the historical work for Jose Limon with Jennifer Scanlon and worked with contemporary choreographers such as Donald Byrd and Sean Curran. With a strong background in ballet, Ms. Marotto has also studied Graham, Horton, Limon, and Simonson techniques with certified instructors from all over the country.

Not your typical "ballroom" studio, Martinez Dance Studio mixes technique with culture to create a vibrant atmosphere for learning authentic Latin dancing. Martinez Studios bridges the gap between all dance styles. Since 1979, Ballet Academy East has been a vibrant center for dance on Manhattan's Upper East Side. In 1978, Julia Dubno, the founder and director of Ballet Academy East was selected by Christine Fokine to run the Fokine Ballet School. That experience led to the opening of Ballet Academy East in a brownstone on East 79th Street with one small studio in 1979.
Today the school has five spacious studios and a world-renowned faculty and continues to flourish. Miss Dubno continues to oversee the day-to-day operations and is in close contact with the faculty in order to be kept abreast of all areas of the school.

Wdely recognized as the greatest living choreographer. Earlier in his career he was also one of the greatest American dancers. His earliest dance training was in tap and ballroom dance, with a local teacher, Mrs. Barrett, in his hometown of Centralia, Washington: before he was a modern dancer, Merce was a hoofer. What he also learned from Mrs. Barrett was that “dance is most deeply concerned with each single instant as it comes along.”
