Michael has always designed collections using classic materials that he is inherently drawn to: silver, gold, diamonds, an endless variety of semi-precious stones, as well as more unusual natural materials found in travels around the world. Early in his career, he discovered the ancient technique of granulation, in which metal is heated and formed into tiny spheres which are affixed in various patterns. Incorporating this design element alongside clean crisp lines into much of his work provides a signature that is uniquely his own. Using this wide mix of materials and an extensive vocabulary of design elements allows him to present collections that combine his modern, functional sensibility with an infinite respect for the hues, textures, and compositions abundant in nature.

Ara, Designer/CEO, was born in Liberia, Africa, where the beauty of the world struck him at an early age. Upon arrival in the United States in 1985, Ara turned to his artistic renderings and sought an outlet for his creative vision. Working from his loft in Soho, Ara began exhibiting his jewelry designs in 1992 at industry trade shows. Quickly finding enthusiastic buyers, Ara invested himself fully into building this business, eventually leading to the opening of his first NYC retail store on the edge of SOHO on Bleecker Street. Ara has now successfully opened the Versani Flagship Boutique in the heart of SOHO on Mercer Street, in addition to opening two more retail stores across the country - the elegant Mulberry Street location in Nolita, NYC, and our southern hot-spot location in Miami's South Beach. The company resulted from a simple request for a pair of fish cufflinks - bizarre but true. A local restaurant owner commissioned the manufacture of a pair of sterling silver cufflinks, as a gift for their loyal restaurant clients.
Harvey Nichols, the exclusive London fashion store, loved the design and ordered a whole collection. Links of London was born and today we have grown internationally with stores in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Canada.

Established in 1969 as an urban ceramics studio by Robert and Sally Silberberg. Van Cleef & Arpels is a famous French jewelry house; its origins in 1896 lay in the hands of Alfred Van Cleef and his father-in-law, Salomon Arpels. They occupied their first shop in the Place Vendome at number 22, where their premises are still located.
Van Cleef & Arpels, place Vendome in Paris A third Arpels brother joined in 1912, and his genial personality helped woo important clients including such celebrities as Marlene Dietrich and Maurice Chevalier.
The firm's pre-1920 jewelery is characterised by fluid lines, graceful curves, color, and a poetic sense of movement, evident of the Art Nouveau style.
For the coronation of Farah Pahlavi, the former empress of Iran, Van Cleef & Arpels received the order of designing and building a crown in 1967. The 4-pound pearl, ruby, diamond and emerald crown she received at her 1967 coronation took Pierre Arpels of Van Cleef & Arpels six months to make. Although she had to leave many of her jewels behind when she left with her husband in exile in the late 1979, her crown is still in the Iranian Crown Jewels, located in the Iranian Central Bank in Tehran.

The diamond is the most important part of the ring and no two are exactly alike. The value and price depends on four factors. Clarity, color, cut, and carat weight. A diamond weight is expressed in carats with 100 points to a carat. Cut is also very important. A properly cut stone shines with a fire and brilliance, the likes of which are not seen in any other precious stone. Color also plays an important role in determining the price of the stone. The nearer a stone gets to being colorless, the greater its value. The final factor affecting price is clarity. Most stones contain natural imperfections.

The company is also notable for its use of supermodels in its advertising campaigns. Past campaigns have included models such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Amber Valletta and more. Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of Tiffany & Co., was dubbed "the King of Diamonds" by New York City newspapers. In the spring of 1887, Tiffany bought the French Crown Jewels.
Tiffany designs were worn by such famous families as the Astors, the Vanderbilts, and the Morgans. Athletes, Hollywood stars, and even European royalty adored these diamonds. Museums valued the Tiffany designs, which ranged from the Art Nouveau period to Art Deco to today's modern styles.

After working as a handbag designer for other companies, Judith Leiber founded her own business in 1963 and quickly established herself as an industry leader at the cutting edge of luxurious fashion. Sold at exclusive boutiques around the world, her handbags cost several thousand dollars and have become a status symbol for many women including several Presidential First Ladies.
In 1994, Judith Leiber received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers. Classic examples of her work can be found on permanent display at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, UK. She retired in 1998.
