One basic concept behind the store and its rotating selection of wines and sakes is to make these pleasures accessible to novices and experienced collectors alike. Striving to provide a range of prices for the major and obscure varietals and across the world. As a fixture in the neighborhood for over eight years, the staff has been fortunate to become intimate with customers' tastes; such familiarity allows for unique suggestions for complex questions of food/wine pairings or simple ones like what to drink on a rainy Wednesday.

Roanoke Vineyards is owned by long-time Long Island Vinyardist Richard Pisacano and his wife Soraya. Richard has been tending vines and growing grapes in this appellation for over thirty years; he has helped plant and/or maintain most of the first vineyards on the island. For over ten years, he has been the Vineyard Manager at Wölffer Estates. Richard brings a lifetime of experience to Roanoke Vineyards, and in just four years, has already amassed a formidable collection of accolades, including the award for "Best Vinifera Red Blend" at the 2006 New York Wine and Food Classic. Richard's partner-in-wine is Roman Roth, the winemaker behind Wölffer's fine wines, as well as his own prestigious Grapes of Roth.

Bottle Blowout Wine and Liquor opened in 2005 with the goal of bringing the lowest prices and best selection to our customers. Today, we continue to be a destination for value and quality conscious customers. Along with top names and unknown gems at discount prices, we carry new brands and old favorites. Bottle Blowout is also proud to carry Suffolk County's best selection of wines under $10.

In the tasting room you may choose from two flights of wine tasting ranging from 4 to 8 wines per flight. A tasting is a small serving, about half an ounce. The Paumanok flight is $6 per person, the Grand Vintage flight is $10 per person. With the purchase of three bottles or more, your tasting fee will be credited toward your purchase. Paumanok Club members are not charged for tasting.
