Charlie McCorkell is one of the founding partners of Bicycle Habitat and the current owner. Hal Ruzal a near mythical figure in New York bike culture was the other founding partner. Charlie’s passion for bikes began in January of 1969 when he started commuting from his parent’s apartment in Windsor Terrace to Cooper Union in the East Village where he attended school.
January seems like a strange time to buy a bike and start riding.
