From Frederick W. Hertrich's modest immigrant beginnings in 1903 as a Gear-maker, then Engineer for Buick, Hertrich's has grown into "One of the top 100 Dealer Groups in the United States" (Ward's Automotive). The first decade of this century heralds several expansion projects which exemplify the family's forward thinking: Open January 2007, a 23 acre state of the art dealership complex on busy Route 1, just north of Milford, Delaware offers customers dramatic and comfortable surroundings, unmatched selection, and unequalled service. It is the largest facility on the eastern shore.
Another brand new sales and service center is under construction on seven acres in Dover, Delaware. This 41,000 square foot dealership will replace the existing Capital Lincoln Mercury, Mazda, Isuzu Store at the same expanded location on Route 13.

In 1991, it was time to add on to the front of the building to complete what is now our service counter, waiting room, and show room. By 1993 AJ's had moved out and we took over expanding to 11 bays and 4 technicians.
1998 was another monumental year for us. One, we changed our name to Precision Automotive to better reflect what we do, and two, we added on once more creating room to work on motorhomes and two washbays. We are proud of our state of the art facility, now 15 bays and a completely paved parking lot. Stop by for a tour. We would love to show it to you.

Delaware Auto Sales gets its cars from a variety of sources. Our cars are almost always local franchise dealership trade-ins and/or lease returns. We have relationships with dealerships and brokers and buy only the highest quality pre-owned cars. A typical scenario is one in which a dealer obtains a car through a trade-in and that dealer is neither a specialist or is not allowed to sell a particular make of car. They call us, (we are not a local competitor), and we purchase the vehicle from them and make the car available online to a national market.
