Originating from the Flat Iron District in New York City we have grown to a modest group of showrooms servicing some of the finest communities in the Northeast as well as becoming an essential resource to the trade. <br> All of our furniture is handmade by seasoned craftsman in our own workrooms (one of the secrets to our industry-leading delivery times) so we can maintain the highest standards. Frames are constructed of hardwoods. Down fill is standard. And we provide a selection of fabrics from the finest design house in the world. The year was 1979 and our founder, Stephen Gordon, was restoring his Queen Anne Victorian house in Eureka, California. He sensed a need in the marketplace, found his true calling in life, and opened the first Restoration Hardware store in his home in 1980.

We have been on the forefront of product development. Our designers have created a collection of original designs using the latest technology. For the past century, the Bielecky Family has set the standard of handcrafting the finest quality Rattan, Cane and Wicker furniture in America. In 1903, Andrew and Conrad Bielecky, emigrated from Poland to New York and set up a small shop, weaving wicker chairs. In the 1920's Bielecky Brothers were one of the first to align themselves with the emerging interior design profession, creating an eclectic variety of custom made furniture fir individual decorators. During the 1930's and 1940's when wicker was relegated to the back porch, the company survived by maintaining quality in production and finishing. At the "American Home Decorating Show" in 1951. the Bielecky exhibit attracted numerous designers including Billy Baldwin who created an elegant collection of "wrapped cane" furniture for the company. In 1979, Angelo Designs, -functionally as well as physically. At the time, Mr. Donghia found he could adapt and restyle these designs for Ralph Lauren's new home, creating a new line of Rattan furniture for Bielecky.

Donghia is a privately owned furniture and textile company, founded by Angelo Donghia who, in his brief lifetime, established the high standards which have become the company’s hallmark. Donghia’s uniquely focused look is achieved through classically inspired yet distinctly modern product. Sold worldwide (in the USA, to the trade only), Donghia presents “American design” at its best. <br> Donghia furniture ranges from upholstered sofas, chairs and beds to tables, casepieces, wicker and teak. Patio.com’s grass-root origins predate the dot-com era. The company (now owned by three brothers raised in Westport, CT) was founded by David Ross 25 years ago. As a high school student, David started a pool service company with $50. Business grew quickly, and his brother, Philip, joined him as they became the first Connecticut pool service company to open a retail location. We first opened our doors in 1962 as a family business. A husband and wife team named Gordon and Carole Segal, and one (yes, count them... one) eager sales associate who was enthusiastic about their vision. One can only imagine the office parties they had. Table for three, please. Fast forward forty years. And did it ever go fast. Today's Crate and Barrel family has grown to over 115 stores and over 6000 associates nationwide. And, we might add, still growing. Located in midtown Manhattan at 200 Lexington Avenue, the New York Design Center (NYDC) is the country's oldest furniture and design building. The variety of residential & contract showrooms, diversity of product lines, and on-going support of design trade associations make it an invaluable resource to the design trade.

In 1953, two sisters from Cincinnati, Ohio came to New York City seeking adventure. Annie and Martha came up with the idea of making furniture out of various "parts". With flush doors and different sized legs they built dining tables, coffee tables, beds, sofas, room dividers, shelving, benches, and more. <br> These new creations were put on display in their first store, located in a brownstone on 51st Street and 3rd Avenue, which they named "Furniture in Parts". Annie and Martha lived just above their store and put all their energies into their new business. <br> Their hard work paid off when an editor from 'Look' magazine took notice of their novel approach to furniture and design. He wrote an article, accompanied with photos, all about their unique concept. It was in this 'Look' magazine article that their store "Furniture in Parts" was appropriately nick-named "Door Store". The article drew so much attention that several more newspaper and magazine stories followed.
