With over 37 years of history and commitment to the City of Edmonton and south Edmonton Communities, Southgate Centre opened in 1970 with 65 stores and services. It was anchored by The Bay, Woodwards and Woodwards Food Floor. Southgate Centre was the largest shopping centre in Edmonton at the time.
Since then, Southgate Centre has evolved within the retail industry in Edmonton and has gone through numerous changes. It was expanded in 1982 doubling the size of the property, including the addition of roof top and decked parking and expanding the store count to over 130. Cumberland Mall is strategically positioned 25 miles (40 km) away from its nearest competitor, 45 miles (72 km) south of Philadelphia, PA and on route to the Southern New Jersey Shore Points. Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre is a shopping mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located in the neighbourhood of Bonnie Doon, it is a medium sized mall and houses only an estimated 100 stores on one floor.
