It is located in North Raleigh off of U.S. Highway 1 (Capital Boulevard) and Interstate 540. The mall is owned by CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. It opened in August, 2002 with anchors Hudson Belk, Sears, Dillard's, and Hecht's. The state's first Saks Fifth Avenue opened in 2004. Hecht's became Macy's on September 9, 2006.

Tysons Corner Center, located in the Tysons Corner unincorporated area in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States (near McLean), opened to the public in 1968, becoming one of the first fully enclosed, climate-controlled shopping centers in the greater Washington area. (The fully enclosed Iverson Mall in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, opened in 1967.) It is the largest shopping mall in the state and in the Baltimore-Washington area.
There are plans to extend the Washington Metro subway westward to Tysons Corner and eventually out to Dulles Airport. The Tysons Central 123 Silver Line station is planned to be on the north side of the shopping center where Tysons Boulevard crosses State Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road). With over 37 years of history and commitment to the City of Edmonton and south Edmonton Communities, Southgate Centre opened in 1970 with 65 stores and services. It was anchored by The Bay, Woodwards and Woodwards Food Floor. Southgate Centre was the largest shopping centre in Edmonton at the time.
Since then, Southgate Centre has evolved within the retail industry in Edmonton and has gone through numerous changes. It was expanded in 1982 doubling the size of the property, including the addition of roof top and decked parking and expanding the store count to over 130. In 1999 Southgate Centre underwent a further major renovation and redevelopment, which saw the Food Festival relocated and expanded, second level development, revitalised public spaces and a host of new and freshly renovated stores. |
