Lucky Number ‘13’ Arrives for Times Square New Year’s Eve The giant, seven-foot-tall “13” (and all the superstitions that go along with the number) will arrive in Times Square on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 11 AM – 11:30 AM at the Times Square Museum & Visitor Center (7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets).
The famous (or infamous) numeral will be very carefully unloaded and brought inside where the “13” will be presented with thirteen multi-cultural good luck charms to turnaround its unlucky reputation. After receiving the good luck charms, the “13” will be illuminated to symbolize good fortune and a bright future in the New Year. The lucky “13” and its thirteen lucky charms will remain on display until December 26th. At that time, the numeral will be installed atop One Times Square to complete the “2-0-1-3” sign that lights up at midnight to announce the beginning of the New Year at the completion of the Ball Drop.

The two organizations have jointly administered the Tonys since 1967, the year of the first Tony telecast. Responsibility for the governance and administration of the awards is vested in two committees: The Tony Awards Management Committee is made up of representatives of the League and the Wing. It oversees the Tony Awards, with emphasis on the television broadcast.
The Tony Awards Administration Committee is comprised of 24 members, of whom 10 are designated by the Wing, 10 by the League, and one each by the Dramatists Guild, Actors' Equity Association, United Scenic Artists, and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. This committee determines eligibility for nominations in all awards categories, reviews the rules governing the awards, and appoints the Nominating Committee. It may, at its discretion, bestow non-competitive Tony Awards including Special Tony Awards, the Regional Theatre Tony Award, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award; as well as Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre.

2012 marks the 64th Virginia Highlands Festival and will be held from July 28 to August 12. Appalachian culture showcased in crafts, art and music.
The festival was started in 1948 by Robert Porterfield, founder of the Barter Theatre, as a simple one-week festival to showcase Appalachian arts and crafts. The festival has now grown into a 16 day event offering a variety of venues. Every year hundreds of volunteers work to create exciting new events for our festival for you to enjoy. Mardi Gras Southeast Texas holds fun for all! From arts and crafts to Zydeco music and Parades, there is an attraction to peak everyone's interest.

For six days each August, the bucolic fairgrounds on Route 9 in Rhinebeck plays host to nearly half a million patrons. The second largest county fair in New York State is the showplace for agriculture in Dutchess County. Over 160 acres of finely manicured gardens and grass create the beautiful setting for thousands of farm animals, agricultural exhibits and horticultural displays.
The fairgrounds becomes an entertainment destination where big name talent can be enjoyed, "thrill a minute" excitement can be experienced at one of the finest carnivals in the entire country, free shows and attractions can be viewed almost constantly from the time you arrive to the time you leave. The Winter Antiques Show is America's most prestigious venue for fine and decorative arts, benefiting East Side House Settlement. The 2008 Show will be held from January 18th to 27th in New York City, with the celebrated Opening Night Party on Thursday, January 17th.

The FAIF Film Festival is an annual event of the non-profit FAIF (Foundation for the Advancement of Independent Films) dedicated to promoting and supporting the art of the motion picture through the presentation of an annual, multi-day festival in which independent films submitted by filmmakers throughout the world are publicly exhibited at the Mann Chinese 6 Theaters, in Hollywood, California. And this group wanted to make their crawfish boil the granddaddy of them all.

October - Norsk Høstfest, North America’s largest Scandinavian Festival, is celebrating its 29th year, starting the evening of October 10th-14th. Tens of thousands of people attend the event annually to celebrate and partake in the Scandinavian culture and entertainment.

December 31 - The New Year's event is special because it brings people together in a positive, interactive way - a way that combines the arts with the concept of responsible celebrating. Each of the past 14 years as many as 20,000 people of all ages - teens, singles, families, children and grandparents filled the streets of historic Annapolis enjoying an alcohol-free and drug-free celebration.

Taos Mountain Film Festival features films of adventure, culture and wildlife of the world's remote regions. Mountain Film also examines threats to the environment and human rights.
The Festival presents mountaineering films and personalities, as well as symposia, photography exhibits, and readings from mountaineering literature.

A gente da empresa Ativa Consultoria e Eventos disse que a infra-estrutura do Bumbódromo já está sendo preparada para o 40º Festival Folclórico de Parintins. A equipe iniciou os processos de limpeza do Bumbódromo, arrumação dos camarotes, processo seletivo das recepcionistas para trabalharem na época do Festival. Zeina Neves enfatizou ainda que o mercado de trabalho está mais exigente com relação à capacitação de servidores para este ano, disse ainda que as pessoas que estarão fazendo o atendimento têm que ser absolutamente capazes de realizar um bom serviço aos turistas. Este é o trabalho inicial que a Ativa vem desenvolvendo em Parintins ao longo de todos esses anos”, disse Zeina Neves. Enfatizou ainda que foi totalmente saudável a mudança da data do Festival para os dias 24, 25 e 26 de junho. Em Manaus os comentários são os melhores possíveis, os ensaios dos bois no Sambódromo têm recebido um acréscimo considerável de pessoas este ano com relação ao ano passado, e isto reflete definitivamente no Festival em Parintins, da forma como as pessoas voltaram a brincar os bois-bumbás nos ensaios de Garantido e Caprichoso. As pessoas comentam ainda que virão a Parintins, pelo fato de que não perderão tantos dias de trabalho, complementou a gerente da Ativa Zeina neves.
