Modernica is also constantly designing new products, like the Museum Bench and the Tenon Wood series. Modernica furniture and lighting is distributed to hundreds of stores throughout the world. We also maintain a collection of over 3,000 pieces of vintage furniture and accessories that are rented out to studios, and have been seen in thousands of films, TV shows, advertisements, photo shoots and events."

BDDW builds each piece by hand, one at a time, in their Williamsburg Brooklyn studio. Tyler Hays, a painter and sculptor, is the company founder and head designer. Joshua Vogel, an architect and gifted craftsman, oversees the Brooklyn workshop. BDDW is known for their heirloom quality solid wood furniture, traditionally joined, in select domestic hardwoods. Their finishes are all hand rubbed with natural oils and lacquers. In beds, tables, seating, lamps and storage, BDDW has created dozens of classics and is constantly producing new and innovative work. |

It all started in 1936 by Martha and Samuel Gorin. They opened an upholstery shop at 81 Franklin Street in downtown Norwich, known then as the Colonial Upholstery Company. They eventually expanded and became the Colonial Upholstery and Bedding Company. As the years passed, they grew, taking over the four floors of 81 through 87 Franklin Street and renamed the company to the Colonial Upholstery and Furniture Company.

Located on W.14th St. in New York City’s Meatpacking District, our Studio is sited in a recently landmarked building from the early 1900s. Following in the area’s industrial vein, the 4,000 square foot loft environment is characterized by raw concrete floors and exposed brick walls. The neighborhood has become home to high–end designer clothing boutiques, multi–starred restaurants and galleries. One of the only DWR Studios to feature weekly window displays, the space displays a wide selection of seating, bedroom designs, workspace and outdoor furniture, lighting and accessories.
