Pilates is an infinite system of exercises that promote balanced strength and flexibility. Joseph and Clara Pilates developed the method which is now nearly 100 years old. Combining Jo’s explorations in fitness, yoga and boxing with Clara’s knowledge and compassion as a nurse, they spent a lifetime applying their ideas to real people. They rehabilitated injured and sickly WW1 soldiers in England and worked to prevent injury and produce peak performance in professional athletes in New York City. From it’s conception the Pilates method was designed to fit us all. It is gentle enough for the pregnant woman and challenging enough for the pros. Even Jay-Z does it. It usually takes two years to become a fully certified Pilates instructor. We study anatomy and train rigorously acquiring a deep understanding of the body. In other words, we’ll help you to do a lot more than just squeeze your ass and try harder. At flesh + bone studio you and the instructor have the space completely to yourselves. We provide expert instruction and focused personal attention to our clients. Each session is customized to fit your body. The results are immediate.

At the age of eight Sadguru Sri Mahayogi Paramahamsa spontaneously entered nirvikalpa samadhi, complete absorption without any notion or concept, and realized the Atman — True Self. He awoke to Non-dual Reality. After Realization, as an adolescent, he began intensive austerities called tapasya and through these he accomplished and mastered all the branches of Yoga, proving through his own experience that they are all genuine paths to the realization of Supreme Self or God — Everlasting Oneness or Immortal Truth.

Everyone, young and old, can benefit from the healing power of yoga. Yoga means union and it teaches us how to connect with our body, mind, and spirit. The benefits of yoga are many. It reduces stress and muscular tension. It increases strength and flexibility. It promotes love for one self, inside and out. It encourages relaxation and stillness of the mind. It enhances your mood, energy, and concentration. It strengthens your heart and lungs. It reduces sports related injuries. It improves your posture and balance. Yoga can improve your overall physical and emotional well-being.

Yoga means “union” in Sanskrit and is a vital way to re-connect with ourselves and create unity of mind, body and spirit. The practice of pranyama (breathing), asanas (postures), savasana (relaxation) & meditation, improves concentration, flexibility, muscle tone, stamina and the immune system.
Yoga reduces stress and increases one’s sense of well-being. Through regualar yoga practice you begin to cultivate a relationship between the mind, body and breath. When you function from your center you are more calm, focused, and balanced approaching life from a grounded perspective. Pilates can transform the way you look and feel. This series of controlled movements focuses on strengthening the center of the body: the abdomen, lower back, and buttocks, to support the spine and stabilize the body. Pilates can improve posture, flatten the stomach, and create more flexibility. http://lotusyogacentersi.com |
