College Square is owned and managed by CBL & Associates. It features approximately 70 stores and restaurants including Carmike College Square Cinemas 9. A new movie theater is under construction at the mall, on part of the southern parking lot. The old cinema will be converted into "specialty stores."
Opened in 1988, College Square is the only shopping mall in an eight-county area of East Tennessee. For the last two years, the 75-acre shopping center has undergone a multi-million dollar redevelopment. Today, Fallbrook Center is a one million sq. ft. open-air center, featuring top name and value-oriented retailers including Party City, Kohl's, Michael's Arts & Crafts, Designer Shoe Warehouse, Linens 'n Things and Petco.
