Thinking of buying a new bicycle? One of your first choices, and not necessarily an easy one, will be where to shop. It can be a challenge because there are a myriad of stores that carry two-wheelers, from specialty retailers, to giant department stores, to backyard garage operations. Where you buy, however, has everything to do with what you get. You see, bicycles aren't like toasters or suitcases. Bikes are shipped in boxes and they must be assembled and tuned. There are many types, too, and you should never buy until you've figured out which is right for you. Measurements and adjustments are required to ensure the frame is the correct size and that the seat and handlebars are properly positioned. And, every new bicycle will need a minor tune-up after several weeks of use. What's more, modern road and mountain bikes can travel at high speeds and carry you over demanding terrain where the machine's materials and construction get tested. A quality two-wheeler, carefully assembled and fit to you, will be the safest, most durable and fun bicycle to ride. For these reasons, we strongly recommend shopping at a good specialty bicycle store in our area. For instance, we hire competent salespeople and expert mechanics who'll ensure that you get the right bike and a quality machine. Look for a store that's clean, has helpful personnel, offers a good selection, and an on-site repair department |

Skate Penn has been operating in State College, PA since October 2007. After Shop Co-Owner Christian Pfeifer relocated from Colorado and landed in State College, Pennsylvania, the options for purchasing skate gear were slim, and even the places that had it available had very little knowledge about skateboarding. Products were only available in stores that carried multiple types of products, therefore, there was no real "Skate Shop" for local riders to call home. With that in mind, Christian got on the phone to his brother "Shaggy" Pfeifer, who was living in St. Petersburg, Florida, and told him of the need for a Skate Shop in town. Shaggy decided he would come check out the scene and a few weeks later he visited State College, and after spending a weekend in town, and seeing the potential, he relocated and the concept of Skate Penn was born, and then in October of 2007, Skate Penn opened its doors in the original location in the Fraser St Alley.

Skating has been part of the SPOILDBRATT Family since the late 1940's starting with Tee's mother Carmen La Rosa (RIP). Carmen instilled her skating roots in her children- her children grew up in the "Roller Disco" era. In the mid 2000, Tee's son Nico adventured in the aggressive arena and SPOILDBRATT SK8SHOP was established in July 2001. We support the rolla by meeting the sk8r's every skating needs. SPOILDBRATT has a Shop team that consist of Mike Hazard, Steve Nichols, Jon Morgcilio, Sam Houston, Ramelle Knight, Tim Franken, Ray G. and Sam Williams.

For a skate shop to be in business for 5 years really is an impressive accomplishment, but Specialty Sports passed that mark up a long time ago. Very soon it’ll be coming up on its 30th year in business, a huge mark for any company and a real milestone for this industry.

"My name is Jeff Kinney and I own the Surf Club Surf Shop. We opened in August 1980, and have been in the same location ever since. Through the years, we have seen the many changing faces to Pacific Beach and the surf market. We started out selling surf boards, wetsuits and supplies to now having a full line of men's and women's active wear, and a great selection of sandals from all the best companies, all while still maintaining a great selection of surfing product."

"Ever since our humble beginnings as a hole-in-the-wall surf shop back in 1988, ZJ Boarding House has been sharing its passion for surfing with the local Ocean Park community and beyond. As the store grew both physically and in inventory, the same levels of knowledge and passion were applied to skateboarding and snowboarding. Our dedication to riding boards, customer service and product knowledge has only increased over the 21 years we have been in business. We pass on our expertise and knowledge to our customers and help them make the right decisions based on their skill level."

The feel of the ice. The roar of the crowd. Hockey is one of the most exciting sports in the world and nothing brings the game closer to home than the only official NHL store in Manhattan, NHL Powered. NHL Powered, in company with Reebok, has partnered up to bring one of the most entertaining and dedicated sporting goods stores in existence today. When entering the store, you are going to have official gear from all of your favorite teams from the Avalanche to the Red Wings and so much more. Reebok is also predominantly featured, which means you can have access to your off-ice clothing as well. Clothing shopping is not the only thing NHL Powered offers; their experience is also about feeling the game through the various media outlets inside. You could take in a game on one of the TVs, explore several of the displays relating to the world of hockey, or simply strike up a conversation with any of the helpful staff located throughout the store. NHL Powered with Reebok has completely opened up the New York City shopping experience and beckons both hockey and non-hockey fans to one great game.
