After working as a handbag designer for other companies, Judith Leiber founded her own business in 1963 and quickly established herself as an industry leader at the cutting edge of luxurious fashion. Sold at exclusive boutiques around the world, her handbags cost several thousand dollars and have become a status symbol for many women including several Presidential First Ladies.
In 1994, Judith Leiber received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers. Classic examples of her work can be found on permanent display at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, UK. She retired in 1998. The Judith Leiber boutiques are exclusive as there are only five in the United States, located in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Orange County, and New York City. Source |

"Jewelry has always gone hand in hand with fashion and fashion's innovations have influenced our creations.
The millennium revisits the themes of black magic, the folk heroines, the military style, the Russian aristocracy, the opulence of the 50s, and the pure and geometric lines of the 70s and 80s. Jewelry from the house of VAN BUSCH completes today's multidimensional high style scene. Rich glowing yellow gold has made a strong comeback and is a perfect fit to the cognacs and beige hues and the classic black of daytime and evening wear. Celebrate the ultimate mix of fashion and elegant jewelry with our unique designs. Yellow gold and white gold jewelry paired with diamonds or colored gemstones may appear transparent and delicate, while another style direction has jewelry with bold and powerful forms worn as a means of self-expression." |

Michael has always designed collections using classic materials that he is inherently drawn to: silver, gold, diamonds, an endless variety of semi-precious stones, as well as more unusual natural materials found in travels around the world. Early in his career, he discovered the ancient technique of granulation, in which metal is heated and formed into tiny spheres which are affixed in various patterns. Incorporating this design element alongside clean crisp lines into much of his work provides a signature that is uniquely his own. Using this wide mix of materials and an extensive vocabulary of design elements allows him to present collections that combine his modern, functional sensibility with an infinite respect for the hues, textures, and compositions abundant in nature.

On display are tantalizing examples of mixed semiprecious stones of blue and gray hues set in 14-karat white gold, and sterling rings and necklaces. Her rings are often used as alternatives to the traditional wedding band, and her earrings and bracelets are office-appropriate. De Verteuil studied fashion design at FIT, and then decided to become an accessories designer. With a background that includes accessory design for Yves St. Laurent, De Verteuil is also an instructor at Parsons School of Design, teaching courses in sterling silver jewelry, beading on fabric, applique, and combined beading and embroidery, the latter being one of the most sought-after accessory trends for the holiday.

During the 1960s and 1970s the firm popularized fashion trends such as the beatnik look, tweed suits, tight pants and tall, thigh-high boots, including the creation of arguably the most famous classic tuxedo suit for women in 1966, Le Smoking suit. "In 2002, Greenwich Jewelers moved to a new location just blocks away from the original store. The 64 Trinity Place store opened in July, and the larger location allowed us to expand the selection of fine jewelry and watches and double the size of the workshop. In the past few years the Gandias' daughters, Jennifer and Christina, joined the family business, with the same passion for gems and jewelry as their parents. Today, the Greenwich Jewelers heritage of exceptional custom design and jewelry service remains intact as the hallmark of our business. However, Jennifer and Christina have expanded the vision of the store to include providing clients the latest styles in fine jewelry. From classics with a twist to unique artisan collections, each piece is hand-selected to enhance the wearer's personality, style and life."
