The Manhattan Mall, one of the few traditional indoor malls in New York City, is located at 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue. There are entrances to the 34th Street-Herald Square subway station and the 33rd Street PATH station on the second basement level.
The mall is located in the high-rise building formerly used by the Gimbels flagship store, which closed in 1986. On April 18, 2007, JCPenney announced that it would open a 150,000 square foot store at the mall, its first in Manhattan. Lethbridge Centre is a two storey enclosed regional multi use complex housing retail shopping, an 11 storey office tower, a professionnal galleria and a 6000 square foot Conference and Event Facility.
