In the spring of 1993, Artie Cutler's restaurant empire was booming. After the tremendous success of the first two Carmine's Italian Family Style Restaurants, in Times Square and on the Upper West Side, Artie was researching a new concept. He wanted to open an authentic barbecue restaurant in the heart of Times Square. He soon found the right location at 152 West 44th Street and, with his management team, set out on a journey through the back roads of Tennessee, Kentucky, the Carolinas, Missouri, and Texas, sampling the best regional barbecue they could find: the product had to be of top quality and had to offer the kind of great value that had become the core value of Alicart Restaurant Group.

Carla Pernambuco, gaúcha de Porto Alegre, sempre se interessou pelos mais variados estilos de culinária. Foi atriz, jornalista, publicitária, estudou e trabalhou Nova York. De volta ao Brasil, ela e o marido, o fotógrafo carioca Nando Pernambuco, inauguraram o Carlota em 1995 em São Paulo. Em 2001 abriram filial no Rio de Janeiro, no bairro do Leblon. The Marrow is a contemporary German and Italian restaurant located amidst picturesque brownstones and cobblestone streets in the West Village. Run by Chef Harold Dieterle and Alicia Nosenzo, owners of nearby Perilla and Kin Shop, the restaurant aims to be a neighborhood restaurant as much as a destination. The food is inspired by the ethnic heritage of Harold’s parents, reflecting his father’s German ancestry and mother’s Italian lineage. To complement The Marrow’s menu, Alicia Nosenzo and Beverage Director Jill Roberts, have created an extensive, yet approachable beverage program that includes nearly 400 wines, with a strong emphasis on Italian, German, and Austrian producers. Specialty cocktails and a curated selection of craft beers will also be available. The refined, yet casual dining room brings together the regional spirit that is featured on the menu and features a large L-shaped granite bar, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a soon to open 20-seat private dining room.
