The Flint Journal has had only three publishers in 125 years. . No, they didn’t average more than 41 years apiece in the job; the job didn’t exist until 1978, more than a century after the newspaper was founded.
So who ran the operation before 1978? It was a team effort: an editor on the news content side and a manager on the business and financial side. In the early years, the manager was most likely also the owner.

The first issue of the San Diego Reader came out on October 4, 1972. The 12-page black-and-white tabloid was laid out on the dining room table of a 1-bedroom apartment on Mission Boulevard in Mission Beach, and 20,000 copies were printed at Western Offset on State and Market streets.

The first issue of the Tulsa Daily World appeared on the afternoon of Sept. 14, 1905. The banner across the top of the front page declared: “Tulsa, Chosen Home of Prosperity and Opportunity, is a Busy City in a Busy Universe.” The paper cost 5 cents per copy.

The State Press has consistently been rated among the best college newspapers in the country. In 2004, 2005 and 2006, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association named The State Press a Gold Crown and Silver Crown winner, respectively — the highest awards given to college newspapers. The State Press also was honored in 2005 with the Payne Award for Ethics in Journalism, a prestigious national award given to one college paper each year for its commitment to ethics. Student journalists working for The State Press consistently place in the prestigious Hearst awards for college journalism students and sweep the Society of Professional Journalism regional awards.

El 17 de febrero de 1976 se editó el primer ejemplar de El Diario en Ciudad Juárez. Bajo la dirección de Osvaldo Rodríguez Borunda, El Diario se ha convertido en el periódico de mayor circulación en el estado de Chihuahua y el cuarto más importante en México.
En el año XXXI de su existencia, la cadena periodística que tiene su base en Ciudad Juárez, mantiene oficinas y publicaciones en: Chihuahua capital, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Delicias y El Paso, Texas.
