Member-supported, its funding comes mainly from Montessori-credentialed teachers, schools, administrators, teacher education programs, parents of Montessori schoolchildren, and interested friends. From 1934 when the Apollo first introduced its world-famous Amateur Night which launched the careers of legendary artists like Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Michael Jackson, D'Angelo and Lauryn Hill, the Apollo has maintained its position as the nation's most popular arena for emerging and established black and Latino performers.

When Master Malick Coulibaly dit Fall first imagined opening a martial arts studio in Central Harlem, it seemed like a distant goal. Friends and support from BRISC helped turn that vision into something tangible, eventually landing on 125th Street with a fresh, fully equipped training space. For two years, the studio welcomed learners of every age—kids and adults alike—who came to build discipline, respect, focus, confidence, and self-defense skills alongside physical conditioning and coordination. The winter months brought a particular energy to the studio, with students bundled up outside before stepping into the warm, focused atmosphere of the training floor. Though the doors have since closed, the impact of those years of dedicated instruction continues to resonate through the neighborhood.

The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival annually assembles some of the finest musicians in the world who reflect Parker’s musical individuality and genius, to promote appreciation for this highly influential and world-renowned artist. The concerts originally scheduled for August 27 and 28 and canceled due to Hurricane Irene will now be consolidated into one and will take place on Friday, September 23 at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem.

It is an endless project. Its ideals are woven through the ideals of democracy. I've come to think that, beyond the ideal of learning for its own sake, for the love of it, a liberal education serves politics. The political question is something like, "What is one to do with one's power?" How Trinity goes about the business of a liberal education is our way of answering that question.
