Place d'Orléans is a large shopping mall in the eastern end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in the community of Orléans. The property is about 756,300 square feet (70,262 m²). It currently holds three large department stores (SportChek, Zellers and The Bay) and about 175 small shops, including a food court. Other prominent shops included the Market Fresh grocery store (The company pulled out of Ontario, due to declining profits, on December 30, 2005, now Boathouse and Goodlife Fitness fill the vacated space), and, once the focus of the mall itself, the recently moved Wal-Mart. Kings Plaza is a shopping center that opened in 1970, within the Marine Park/Mill Basin section of Brooklyn, east of Flatbush Avenue. Originally hosting the now defunct Alexander's, as well as Macy*s department store chains, it began to operate a branch of Sears in 1997, and underwent extensive renovations in 2001. Later, Kings Plaza closed the Waldenbooks book store, Suncoast videos and Sam Goody music store. The Banana Republic store was closed and changed into a children's clothing store named Kidstown (which has also closed) and a Godiva chocolate store was added. CVS also closed and was replaced by a furniture store. An Armani Exchange store was added to the mall, expected to open summer 2008. Source
