Squan Tavern

The landmark tavern at Five Points in Mercerville was built in the mid-1700s. The exact date is not known, but it is rumored that George Washington and his troops passed by the tavern on their way to the “Battle of Princeton”. In later years, the tavern was owned by many prominent area families and can lay claim to the oldest liquor license issued in Hamilton Township.

The long awaited PJ’s Medford Lakes is a great place to hang out with family and friends, watch the game, eat a great meal, enjoy happy hour drink specials, or celebrate a memorable event in a unique neighborhood pub and restaurant. The Boathouse Bar and Grill has been in operation since 1998 and is owned by Tim and Matt Harmon. The original Boathouse was located at 1401 Highway 71 in Belmar and moved to its current location at 1309 Main Street in Belmar, in November 2000. There have been several restaurants in this location prior to the Boathouse, including "Jerry O's", "The Rescue" and the "Wooden Nickel".
