Five Points Academy is a unique facility located in downtown New York City, on the border of Chinatown and Soho. We take our name from the historic and infamous neighborhood known as The Five Points, which was located just a few blocks away from our landmark building. <br> Five Points Academy is an independent, member-oriented semi-private club staffed with professional, experienced personal trainers, who recognize members by name. Formed by a dedicated and inspired group of teachers and practitioners in 1987 as a regional arm of the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States. Iyengar Yoga aims were threefold: to support the teaching of Iyengar yoga throughout our four-state area, to establish a central place for study and teaching that would embody the highest standards of a transformational practice of yoga, and to connect our practitioners with others in the United States and throughout the world and to the source of our inspiration, B.K.S. The Willow was founded by Jennifer Shea in 2002 with the hlep of Gina Addeo. Jenna moved to Staten Island in December 2001 from East Hampton, NY where she worked full time as a Pilates/Dance teacher at the reknowned Gurneys Inn Resort and Spa. Following September 11, 2001, Jenna wanted to use her expertise to help heal victims of this tragedy but found that nowhere on Staten Island was a facility for her to find employment.

The Owner/Director of PILATES STATEN ISLAND, Celeste Zopich, is a former dancer classically trained in ballet and Martha Graham technique. She studied and performed with The Clive Thompson Dance Company and also studied under the direction of Ms. Ellen Tharp of the Staten Island Ballet. It was her dance background that brought her to Pilates where she trained comprehensively in the STOTT™ Pilates Method and received her Certificate of Training for all levels of Pilates work. Celeste enhanced her training through work either private and in small workshop settings with Mary Bowen, Lolita San Miguel, Kathy Grant, and Ron Fletcher. Celeste holds the highest National Credential as a PMA - Gold Certified Teacher.

The Dance Studio of Park Slope is the original center for dance and fitness in Park Slope for both Children and Adults.
