It was renamed in 1983 to honor America’s most prolific playwright, Neil Simon, following the successful engagement of Brighton Beach Memoirs, the first play of an autobiographical trilogy about his youth with his family. Fittingly, in 1985, the second play of Mr. Simon’s trilogy, Biloxi Blues played there successfully. The John Golden Theatre is a legitimate Broadway theatre located at 252 West 45th Street in midtown-Manhattan.<br> Designed in a Moorish style along with the adjacent Royale Theatre by architect Herbert J. Krapp for Irwin Chanin, it opened as the Theater Masque on February 24, 1927 with the play Puppets of Passion. The blaze, which was later determined to be an act of arson, destroyed the interior. E. F. Albee, one of the main executives for B. F.
