Battery Park is a 25-acre public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan in New York City. The park is named after the artillery batteries that were positioned there in the late 17th and early 18th centuries to defend the city from naval attack. Today, the park is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, offering a variety of recreational and cultural activities.
One of the main attractions of Battery Park is the stunning waterfront views of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Visitors can take a ferry to these iconic landmarks from the park's ferry terminal. The park also features several monuments and memorials, including the Castle Clinton National Monument, a fort built in the early 1800s, and the American Merchant Mariners' Memorial, which honors the men and women who have served in the United States merchant marine.
Battery Park is also home to several green spaces, including the Battery Oval, a large lawn and garden area, and the Battery Bosque, a serene and peaceful area that is perfect for a stroll or a picnic. Since its birth almost forty years ago as the "First Inland Oceanarium", the Aquarium of Niagara has seen over 8 million visitors, tourists, teachers, and students pass through its doors. It was the first aquarium to use synthetic seawater to exclusively maintain marinelife. More than forty exhibits showcase 1,500 aquatic animals from around the globe.
The Aquarium of Niagara is one of only 17 institutions in North America to house a colony of the endangered Peruvian penguin. Two daily penguin feedings provide visitors an opportunity to "Meet the Keeper" and learn about these fascinating aquatic birds! The schedule includes exciting shark feedings (on alternate days), and scheduled sessions with the California sea lions in the 100,000 gallon central pool. Moray eels, piranhas, clownfish and the brilliantly colored fish of the coral reefs compliment the regional freshwater exhibits of sturgeon, gar and rock bass. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the mist from the Falls and the majestic Niagara River gorge from the Aquarium’s Observation Deck. Our ‘Fin’esse Gift Shop offers a sea of treasures. The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge that connects the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn. It spans the Narrows, a body of water that separates the two boroughs, and is named after the explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, who was the first European to enter New York Harbor in 1524. The bridge was designed by Othmar Ammann, who was also the chief engineer of the George Washington Bridge, and was completed in 1964. At the time of its completion, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world with a main span of 4,260 feet. The bridge has six lanes of traffic on the upper level and three on the lower level, and is a major transportation link for commuters and commercial vehicles. The bridge also offers a spectacular view of the New York City skyline and the harbor. The bridge's opening ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Robert Moses, the powerful NYC Parks commissioner and urban planner who had pushed for the construction of the bridge. The bridge is considered as an engineering marvel and a significant transportation link in the New York City.

Zoo New England subsists on earned revenues and state, private, and corporate funding. Its mission is to be a pre-eminent conservator of endangered animal species, and to provide world-class resources for conservation education.

"This monument is not only a memorial to the nation's 32nd president, but also a remembrance of the people of his time. The monument stretches along the Tidal Basin with four outdoor gallery rooms, connected by granite passageways. Each room exhibits aspects of Franklin D. Roosevelt's terms in office. The second room, for example, depicts the Great Depression with statues waiting in a bread line and of a man listening to a fireside chat. Another room contains a statue of Eleanor Roosevelt, the only memorial to honor a First Lady. The monument is glorified by waterfalls and pools."

The inspiration for Story Land came to Bob and Ruth Morrell of North Conway, NH, from a woman they met in Germany, while Bob was serving in the U.S. Army in the early 1950s.
Frau Von Arps had created a collection of small dolls based on characters from children's stories, and she suggested that the Morrells build a small village to house them when they returned home to the White Mountains. They took her suggestion much further, deciding instead to bring some of those characters and stories to life in a setting with green grass and flowers, where children are safe and busy at every turn. |

In 1978, the zoo closed to embark upon a two-year upgrade project. 1980 marked the rebirth of the zoo; it reopened with a new Nature Center, a Polar bear exhibit, a boardwalk through a native wetlands area and a North American bison exhibit. And as they say, the rest is history. The current, vibrant state of Roger Williams Park Zoo is due to the hard work, persistence, and cooperation of both public and private sector, as well as the general public, for whom this zoo exists.

The Liberty Bell, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American bell of great historic significance. The Liberty Bell is perhaps one of the most prominent symbols associated with early American history and the battle for American independence and freedom. Its most famous ringing, on July 8, 1776, summoned citizens for the reading of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress. Previously, it had been rung to announce the opening of the First Continental Congress in 1774 and after the Battle of Lexington and Concord in 1775.
