Established in 1986, Deneille's Dance & Exercise Studio opened it's doors with the intension of teaching each and every single student on an individual basis; concentrating on a students particular strenghts and interests offering a complete and quality curriculum in all areas of dance. 23 years later while the world has changed in many ways our standard of excellence remains. Although we have adapted to the modern world, we still insist on teaching and training with a good old fashined touch; that includes knowing every one of our students by their first name and knowing something special about them. At Deneille's Dance & Exercise Studio we are NEVER short on happiness, and pride ourselves on providing superior training to all our students. The history of Santo Rico dates back to 1995. The name of the dance company is derived from the initial members of the group being half from Santo Domingo (Santo) and half from Puerto Rico (Rico), hence the name "Santo Rico." Santo Rico was initially formed by Wilton Beltre, a Dominican native, who expressed his love for dance by displaying his street style of dancing Mambo/Salsa in local nightclubs in New York City. Prior to forming Santo Rico, Wilton received dancing instruction from the well renowned Eddie Torres. This gave him professionalism, grace and ultimately led to the development of a unique style. During his stint with Mr. Torres Wilton excelled and brought his dancing ability to such a high level that he became one of the most outstanding members of The Eddie Torres Dance Company.

Capoeira Angola, an ancient martial art of African origin, is one of the many cultural weapons used to break the chains of enslavement in Brazil. Played close to the ground, Capoeira Angola combines fluid, dance-like movements with kicks, head butts, tripping sweeps and the appearance of playfulness or vulnerability. Music is played on traditional instruments to accompany the players, to teach the rhythmic heart of the art, and also to mask its power. In the eyes of the enslavers it appeared to be a joking and playful acrobatic dance, but eventually its power was realized and Capoeira was outlawed. Death was the penalty paid by those caught playing Capoeira during the slavery era. For almost 400 years Capoeira Angola was taught and practiced in secret, and only in the 1930's did this African martial art become legal to teach and practice.

It is the mission of Creative Arts Studio to encourage learning through artistic methods that are individually meaningful to each student. In our second decade of business we continue to hold close to this mission.

Conceived by Bobbi Petri, Dance upon a time.... is the premier social dance studio in Queens and the Long Island area. Since its inception, our studio has attracted students from all over the tri-state area; we try to provide the highest quality of instruction available in a professional, yet relaxed and fun learning environment. Our ballroom, one of the largest among the NY area dance studios, regularly holds dance events of over 150-250 people; it can be partitioned into as many as 4 separate classrooms that can, depending on the dance, easily accommodate dozens of students in each.

Fancy Feet boasts a director with thirty six years of teaching experience, twenty nine years in business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, Drama and Theater, who trains every instructor in her philosophy and style of teaching. This is done to provide your child with top notch quality and professionalism.

The launching of a dance company in 2004 and expansion into the beautiful, spacious studios on Prospect Avenue is a longtime goal realized. These seven years of extraordinary growth, since June of 2002, are a testament to Ms. King's dedication to creating an atmosphere that provides a fertile training ground for dancers and a place for teachers/choreographers to present new and original works. Her innovative curriculum embraces traditional to emerging styles, inspiring dancers to strive for both technical excellence and meaningful artistry.

Wdely recognized as the greatest living choreographer. Earlier in his career he was also one of the greatest American dancers. His earliest dance training was in tap and ballroom dance, with a local teacher, Mrs. Barrett, in his hometown of Centralia, Washington: before he was a modern dancer, Merce was a hoofer. What he also learned from Mrs. Barrett was that “dance is most deeply concerned with each single instant as it comes along.”

The Berest Dance Center has operated in Port Washington since 1976. It is family owned with Olga Berest as director and Heather Berest, joining her mom as artistic director in 2006. (See article and pix below)
Housed in a beautiful Dutch Colonial purchased by the Berests in 1996, The Center includes 3 floors of studios flanked by decorated tin walls and ceilings, 2 bathrooms dressing and waiting room areas and a kitchen.

Champion Irish dancer and former lead of Riverdance, Kathleen Ryan, has expanded Ryan Irish Dance Academy to five locations across Nassau County.
Miss Kathleen has been dancing for more than 25 years, launching her international career with Riverdance on Broadway in 2000 and touring widely across North America with the iconic Celtic company until April 2005.

There is many dance socials being held weekly, bi-weekly or monthly in Manhattan, Queens, New York, New Jersey and generally in the Tri-State area. There are many interesting people to meet and many partners to dance with. All you need to do is get out here. You are invited to join our Dance Club on our quest to dance socially and have fun everywhere where possible. Before going to socials we suggest to learn at least basic steps of few most popular social dances like: Salsa, Merengue, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Swing and Hustle. You will have more fun and your partners will appreciate it.

We strive to afford all of our students an opportunity for creative self-expression without the unnecessary pressure of professional "competition." We believe that the confidence, poise, and enrichment dance provides is valuable to the development of all children, and that, above all, it should be a positive, rewarding, and fun learning experience. We believe that dance is an art form. It is meant to be enjoyed and celebrated.
