A step into the Metz Bicycle Museum in Freehold is truly a stroll through history. The Museum houses one of the world's finest collections of antique bicycles, dating from the 1850's to the 1950's. Hundreds of bicycles are artfully displayed. Boneshakers, highwheelers, quadricycles, tricycles, ordinaries, safeties, children's bikes, trick bikes, and many more unusual and one-of-a kind cycles make up this fascinating collection.
The Metz Bicycle Museum houses much more than bicycles. The sign over the entrance to the museum reads "Treasures of Years Gone By," and treasures you will see! On display at the Metz Museum are extensive collections of children's riding toys, kitchen and household gadgets, antique mousetraps, cast iron bottle cap openers, pencil sharpeners, antique cars, and lots more. Over the years thousands of members have followed the founding fathers by helping the Museum grow to be the premier electric railway museum in the world. Today, our collection contains over 250 transit vehicles, most of them trolleys, from all over the United States, Canada, and many other countries. We are the oldest, and largest electric railway museum in the world.
The mission of the Museum is to present a living history of public transportation relevant to North American life through community-related educational programs. The Museum shall collect, restore, preserve, exhibit and demonstrate the operation of significant transit vehicles with emphasis upon traditional streetcar and interurban service, including rapid transit, trackless trolley and bus service with select world wide comparative representation. The Museum shall provide a repository for artifacts and information of an educational and historic nature relating to the origin and development of the transit industry and its contribution to modern society.

Thannhauser Collection - February 1, 2011 – January 25, 2013 Justin K. Thannhauser was the son of renowned art dealer Heinrich Thannhauser, who founded the Galerie Moderne in Munich in 1909. From an early age, Thannhauser worked with his father, building an impressive program of exhibitions of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism and the art of the contemporary French and German avant-gardes. The Thannhausers’ commitment to promoting artistic progress paralleled the vision of Solomon R. Guggenheim. In recognition of this shared spirit, Justin Thannhauser ultimately bequest a significant portion of his art collection—including masterpieces by Cézanne, Gauguin, Manet, Monet, Picasso, Pissarro, Renoir, and Van Gogh—which is on view in a dedicated gallery, to the Guggenheim Museum.

O Museu do Índio, órgão científico-cultural da Fundação Nacional do Índio (Funai), foi criado por Darcy Ribeiro, no Rio de Janeiro, em 1953. É a única instituição oficial no país exclusivamente dedicada às culturas indígenas. O acervo do Museu Nacional de Belas Artes teve origem no conjunto de obras de arte trazido por D. João VI de Portugal, em 1808, ampliado alguns anos mais tarde com a coleção reunida por Joachin Lebreton, que chefiou a chamada Missão Artística Francesa, formando a mais importante pinacoteca do país.

Formado inicialmente ao longo dos anos 40 e 50 por inúmeras doações de artistas, empresários e algumas instituições oficiais, o acervo do Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro constituiu-se uma das coleções de arte do século XX mais importantes no país. Apresentando um panorama completo e sofisticado da evolução artística de nosso século, dentro e fora do Brasil.

Considerado, ainda em vida, o maior compositor das Américas, Heitor Villa-Lobos compôs cerca de 1.000 obras e sua importância reside, entre outros aspectos, no fato de ter reformulado o conceito de nacionalismo musical, tornando-se seu maior expoente. Foi, também, através de Villa-Lobos que a música brasileira se fez representar em outros países, culminando por se universalizar.

A sua atividade como colecionador que nos legou os registros materiais desse esforço. O apoio a valores artísticos nacionais e a busca do acesso público às suas coleções tornavam-no um tipo de mecenas moderno e urbano, comprometido com a cidade em que vivia É igualmente importante destacar a sua participação na fundação do Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, em 1948, do qual foi o primeiro presidente.

A Igreja sempre se utilizou da arte como forma de anúncio da Palavra de Deus. Durante algum tempo, por exemplo, como boa parte do povo era analfabeta, usava-se a "Bíblia dos pobres", enorme e cheia de figuras, através das quais dava-se a evangelização. Assim, com o objetivo de reunir algumas obras de inspiração divina e promover uma síntese da presença da Igreja na história da arte no Brasil, idealizou-se o Museu Arquidiocesano de Arte Sacra, o MAAS. O museu reúne, em seu acervo, escultura, pintura, mobiliário, prataria, indumentária religiosa, medalhística, somando, ao todo, mais de 4.300 peças, nem todas, ainda, em exposição. Dentre as peças expostas, destacam-se a "Inspiração de São Pedro", pintada por Pedro Américo; uma cabeça de anjo esculpida por Mestre Valentim e que pertenceu à Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, igreja esta, demolida para a construção da Av. Presidente Vargas; além de toda a prataria - objetos religiosos - que pertenceu à Catedral de Lisboa e que veio para o Brasil com D. João VI. O Instituto Ciência Hoje (ICH) é uma organização social de interesse público sem fins lucrativos vinculada à Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC).
O site Ciência Hoje On-line é uma iniciativa pioneira de divulgação científica na internet brasileira. Além de disponibilizar parte do conteúdo das publicações do ICH, o site publica notícias exclusivas atualizadas diariamente que oferecem ao leitor uma cobertura dinâmica da atualidade científica no Brasil e no mundo.
Em 2007, foi lançado, em parceria com o Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, o livro Física Hoje - Uma aventura pela natureza: dos átomos ao universo, que reúne 11 artigos escritos por renomados pesquisadores brasileiros e originalmente publicados na revista Ciência Hoje ao longo de 2005, em comemoração ao Ano Mundial da Física.
O ICH atua também na divulgação científica em meios audiovisuais: o Instituto promoveu a realização do programa de televisão Tome Ciência, uma série semanal que abordou de forma acessível temas de ciência e tecnologia.. Em outubro de 2004, o ICH se uniu à Rede Globo na campanha Ciência Vale a Pena.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
