In 1964 Marguerite and Dominic started serving pizza and sandwiches from a small corner in the back of a bar called the Squan Tavern. Dominic was a meat cutter in a supermarket in Long Branch during the day and used to drive down to Manasquan at night to work at the Squan Tavern serving the foods that he was raised on.

Heartland Brewer and Beer Hall is the fourth beer hall to opened under the Heartland Brewery. Connolly Station opened May 19, 2005, named after a train station in Dublin, and proximity to the Belmar Train Station. This combined two restaurants, Pat's Tavern and Patrick's Pub with one menu and theme. They feature a large menu with a wide variety such as; mouth watering steaks, fresh seafood, large salads, wraps, sandwiches, & Irish specialties like fresh corned beef & shephard's pie.
