The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre is a legitimate Broadway theatre located at 242 West 45th Street in midtown-Manhattan.<br> Designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp, it opened as the Royale Theatre on January 11, 1927 with a musical entitled Piggy. John Golden leased and renamed the theatre for himself from 1932 to 1937, when the Shubert Organization assumed ownership and leased the theater to CBS Radio until 1940, when it was restored to its original use and name. Lorraine Massey, was born in Leichester, England, and started cutting hair in a local salon at age 13. "I went to the salon every day after school, and as often as I could on weekends. I couldn't get enough." At 16, she went to study with Martin Smith, the artistic director of Remi-Toni & Guy, and at 19, took her scissors and went traveling - to Hong Kong, Japan, and the Philippines - where she lived in a hut and cut hair on the beach.

It is an endless project. Its ideals are woven through the ideals of democracy. I've come to think that, beyond the ideal of learning for its own sake, for the love of it, a liberal education serves politics. The political question is something like, "What is one to do with one's power?" How Trinity goes about the business of a liberal education is our way of answering that question.
